I have ~35 dollars to spend on weightlifting supplements

So I'm just about through the 5lb bucket of Gold Standard that I'd bought early in the summer, so I'm looking for something new/a different flavor of the same stuff to replace it. I'm really open to any sorts of suggestions, and I'm also pretty flexible about the price, although I'd like it to remain reasonable. If it's really a decent option, I'm also open to spending the 35 on a nice night out and going without anything.

I work out fairly regularly, hitting the gym for lifting/cardio ~4 times a week.

Thanks in advance, friends.

EDIT:
In response to flyback:

I try and do as many compound exercises as I can, and only resort to isolation when I've got no other options. I work alternating muscle groups and make sure to get plenty of rest. That said, whichever muscle groups I do work I work to failure. The end goal is putting on lean mass. I eat as healthy as I can, with lots of lean meats (no red meat at all) and vegetables. A typical meal consists of a couple of chicken breasts prepared in various manners (minimizing fat), some rice, and a side of vegetables. Due to my school schedule being so rigorous, I really have trouble getting to the suggested 5-6 small meals a day.

What is your lifting routine and diet like? This will determine whether or not the protein actually matters.

Details on what lifting program you do, intensity and so forth would be helpful. Diet details such as how clean you are eating and such.

Also, what is your goal? Put on lean mass?

If you're smashing through the protein but not even doing compounds then blow it elsewhere.

Put the money in your pocket and go out and have a good time!! Supplements are overrated. Eat 4-5 good meals a day with lots of protein. And give it some time. Muscles grow while they're resting, not in the gym.

If you're smashing through the protein but not even doing compounds then I'd say it would be better spent on a sweat guard ;)

What he said, although it sounds like the OP is just looking for a new flavor to try, rather than a different type of supplement. Keep in mind 90+% of the supplements out there are just BS marketing, and don't do anything close to what they claim.

Having said that, I like the ON chocolate, chocolate mint, and vanilla flavors. The rocky road is pretty good too. Strawberry is alright. Stay far away from the cookies and cream, and the extreme milk chocolate. Also, the fruit punch flavor is ok.

Hehe, there will be weeks at a time when almost all of my protein comes from whey. It's just so much more convenient to carry a shaker bottle and some powder around than to spend hours preparing food every night.

I still make sure to eat some veggies and take a multi so that I'm getting all the required nutrients.

Rocky road is good. I got some Extreme Milk chocolate the other day, and I like it more because it's not as sweet as the rocky road. Double chocolate is good too.

Protein

They are the absolute cheapest in terms of g/$ last time I checked, especially if you buy one of the 25+ lbs sizes. I haven't ordered from them in awhile though. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from when I bought 25 lbs. of pineapple flavored whey from them without sampling it first.

lol, how much are halodrol liquigels going for now?

I was looking at the ingrediant list for the liquigels, and I don't think they have any actual anabolic agents in them anymore. It just looks like a blend of herbs and vitamins. It seems like that's all the companies can get away with after the ban.

I suppose you can probably pick up a legit package of halodrol on ebay if you want to pay $100.

Try and incorporate non-whey protein into your diet. I'm not a nutritionist but I'm willing to bet there is only a certain level of absorption that whey can do for you. Most people on the bodybuilding forums I frequent swear by it.

If you're going to make it a point to be taking protein supplements, then you can take an extra 5 mins to make a 6 egg white omlette. Cheese, peanut butter, cottage cheese are all very fast to "prepare" too. Grab and go more or less. Same with tuna in the can.

If you're going to lift, do it right (that includes diet). You'll see much better gains.

It was a stupid inside joke. You mentioned dianabol in another thread, so i assume you knew a bit about supplementation.

I wasnt trying to insult you at all. :)

Thanks for the tip, although I've been tracking my diet for 3 years now on Fitday - calories, grams of fat, carbs, protein, etc. I know within 200 cals or so how much I need to bulk, cut, etc.

I prefer whole food, but school gets so busy sometimes I just opt for the supplements because it's so much faster to pack some whey and oats than a chicken breast + rice, veggies, etc.

I hear that. School and job tend to get in the way of bodybuilding :)

Nothing wrong with whey, though (in moderation). I have it for breakfast (with milk, oats and other stuff mixed in). Just trying to save you some frustration--if you do something, go the extra length to make it count. You'll be much happier that way.

I end up getting a little less sleep so I can prepare the meals for the day. I'm happier throughout the day knowing I'm doing the best I can, though.
