I'm sure your friends didn't want to go because of other reasons. Hell, I'm sure he didn't just die yesterday. I would go to the concert even after a friend dieing, we just have to live on. It's not like he is pissing on his grave. You only do that when you found out his been secretly dating your girlfriend for a few months.
