I hate you, IE

When I click on a Zip file in IE, the dialog box has the option to open from current location grayed out. I can only save it then open it. For some reason it can open from a temp folder with https:// links as opposed to regular old http://. I'm using IE 6 and XP Pro if it helps.

It only does this with ZIP files? If so, there could be an association problem. Download and install winzip 8.0 and see what happens.

is winzip set as the default program for zip files? (right click on a zip file > properties > opens with : _____________ )

Here's a simple fix. Download ZipCentral 3.0 from download.cnet.com. It's a freeware program that works well on Win2K. Should work well with XP also.

Have you tried running a repair on IE, and what version do you?
what about changing the settings?
