it's 1 am. i'm coming home, and decide 1 am might be a good time to go buy ROTK at wally world, since they have it cheaper than anywhere else. wrong! apparently the whole town is there shopping, and only 3 registers are open. and i think everyone is paying with a check. bastards! only at walmart can you wait in line for 30 minutes at 1 am to pay.

the worst part is they have a few of the checkyourselfout machines, but of course they aren't on. frankly i think people in this town are too stupid to operate them. they're at the grocery store. in austin there would be a line for those just like any other line. here, people go out of their way to avoid the things, and will wait in line instead. i guess i shouldn't bitch too much, since the general stupidity here lets me get out of the grocery store in record time.

The hockey stick I bought broke after 2 slap shots. It was a cheap temp stick... but still!

Same, I hate Wal-Mart. The one near me is absolutely horrendous. The only remotely tolerable one I've been to in a long time is the one way out on Highway 6.

Funk that. I'll just go to Target.

Target is 100x better.

I am surprised that Walmart has check out yourself machines, Walmart has a lot of poor looking people shopping there.

... And you think they'd steal the fancy check yourself out machines? They look heavy...

granted, i work for the kmart corp, but i hate walmart...trashy store, trashy customers, and slow checkouts. The only semi-decent thing about checks is that they're processed instantly at the register and you can take them back, as opposed to any other store that keeps your check and deposits it into a bank account.

so i went back in there today, during a normal hour. needed 24 2.5" screws, and that movie. so, first i go to the hardware section. the one problem with that is any screws come in either packs of 4 for $1 each or boxes of 300 for however much. and i don't think they have my size anyway.

second problem is that they only have fullscreen versions of ROTK. wtf. like 100 copies and every single one in that sh!tty format. might as well just watch the first half of the movie because that is about how much you are missing.

lol, I hate Walfart for the same reasons. I went there with my aunt and cousins one night at like 2 in the morning and it was just as crowded then as it is during rush hour, 10pm, 7am, etc.

wow we must have the best wal-mart in the world then.

we do not have slow checkers (well there are a few), its not a trashy store or are the people that shop there trashy.

heck its even far better then the target in town.

the only thing i hate is the do it yourself checkout lines. there always seem to be a person with a full cart in them. bah

Walmart literally smells. For screws you should go to Orchard Supply. I don't work there or anything but they generally know where everything is at and what its used for. Walmart sucks. Prices maybe low, but its not worth the hassle of dealing with the people or inventory thats just laying around all over the place. The only thing thats good is the price check scanners, but at other stores they actually have the prices on the shelves or on the merchandise.

Agreed.

Target stores are not as crowded, prices are about the same, stores are newer/cleaner and the female employees are usually HAWTER!

I avoid the self checkers like the plauge, I can't believe they even have them, it's just screaming for more thefts in the stores and I figure if nobody uses them they will hire more checkers and lose the self checking lines.

Anyone ever taken notice at the number of pregnant teen employees at Walmart? I was walking out earlier, after being rung up by a pregnant teen, and noticed that 3 other cashiers were pregnant!

Maybe it's just some stud who works at Walmart?

Walmart is good for things you need immediately, in the middle of the night. I prefer Target for other shopping as prices only differ by %3-7 generally. I think the 1000000000 times cleaner stores are worth it.

I love them. Walmart's theft prevention is Walmart's problem, not mine. If they think it's a good idea, who are you to argue with them?

I just hate it when I get an idiot using the machine ahead of me.

Theft has not been an issue with self check out machines at walmart. The current version they are using simply rocks and they hardly ever break down unlike the last version.
