Initially I was on a single plan with 500 minutes. I then switched to a family plan with 800 minutes. Then I added a third phone and upped my minutes to 1200 on my family plan. I DID NOT know that I didn't have the free in calling feature. Now I know why my freaking bill is so high cuz my business partner has verizon and i thought it was a free call!

Anyways, I called verizon to complain cuz upon signing up for the 1200 minutes family plan for $79.99, it stated I was getting FREE IN CALLING to ALL verizon users. That isnt the case from what I've been told cuz my contract was never extended and I'm still on the OLD plan even though my minutes and price changed.

Does this make any sense?

UPDATE:

They are a bunch of idiots! I told them my story and this lady (who seemed to be nice) understood what I was trying to tell her. Unfortunately, they werent going to do anything except change me to the free incalling plan but then would extend my contract once again! So now I get stuck with this "old" outdated plan!

How is it I get two HUGE phone bills cuz the person who changed my plan neglected to change it to the "NEW" plan. Why am I still on the "OLD" plan?! Why do they even have two different plans?!!???

Anyways, I wold cancel my service, but we're looking @ $175/phone. Believe me, when I do get some money I am leaving them for good! Good thing I'm ditching their landline in a week or so!

when you switch promotions, they usually change you to the current one they are offering.

Which extends your contract.
I'd talk to a supervisor about this.

wow...i've not had a prob with cingular in this regards. if you chagne plans, you change plans. you cannot be on the same "old" plan but have more minutes and a higher price. And why do you have to extend your contract with them if you are only switching plans?

I think they are BS'ing you, if the $79 plan comes with free in calling, then you should have gotten it when you switched to it.

edit: as far as extending the contract, cingular only does this if you buy a new phone from them because they subsidise the cost of the phone. they have never extended contract simply because i wanted a different plan.

You can't be on an old plan, it doesn't work like that. Is this the first month since you changed plans?

Not to make you mad or anything, but why is this Verizon's fault? How come you didn't ask? If you didn't ask to be in the User to User plan, I don't think they would know to put you there.

Anyway.. if you have been a long time customer of Verizon and this is your first bill, they will probably refund the difference.

Dude, Verizon is the biggest scam ever with the most despicably deceitful business practices. I have 3 landlines and 2 cell phones with them. They are the ONLY company that I get CONSISTANT billing errors with and manage to piss me off beyond controllable levels when dealing with them over the phone. I hate that company with a passion.

how'd you get 1200 minutes and 3 phones for 79.99? that's what I'm paying for 400 minutes and 3 phones :(

it was interesting enough that I went to look (we don't use those 400 minutes, I don't know why I felt like I needed more so badly :p) and the only 1200 minute family plan they list available (for me, anyway) is 79.99 for 1 phone and 20 more for each of the others.. so.. 119.99 for 3 phones... with unlimited IN calling on the main one and within the family on the others.. (which is the arrangement I have for 79.99/400.. I think I'll stop by and see if I can't make 'em cough up that IN stuff on the other two lines since that seems to be what 79.99 buys these days...)

You should have received confirmation letters with every addition and your bill says exactly what promotion you are on. Also if they were to change the orignal promotion on the prim line then you have needed to sign a new contract for it. If they changed it and you didn't agree to a new contract then they just broke the old contract and you could cancel without an etf that is why they require a new contract.

Any more problems then just PM me, I work for them.

We also change the promotions every 6 months or so and the old ones are grandfathered so you can not get an old promo unless you have a family share. The newest promo has unlimited in calling but if you lived in the Northeast area then you lost the free calling to Canada. The old promo did have free calling to Canada.
