I don't know what to do. Here is my situation. I have an xbox360. I have $1200 to spend on a TV for my small bedroom but I really want to stay under 1000 if possible I sit 7.5 to 6 feet away from where my tv is going to be at. Which TV should I get between the two I will post below. Also If there is any better choice please tell. I can't do this on my own. :(

Sceptre 42 1080p $899
I don't have a costco member ship so I would have to pay 50 bucks extra for this tv.

Toshiba 37HL17 37" 720P $850
I know the link says 899.99 but at my local BJ's its 849.99. Plus I already have a membership there

And just to add to it.(I know the title says two...)
Samsung LN-T3732HX 37" 720P 5000:1 $998

I own the Toshiba 37HL67 which is the identical unit to the one you linked & I'm very happy with it. (I also just bought a 42-incher for my living room) I compared it to many other TV's in the price range including the Samsung T3732HX and I felt it was just as good or better even if the price had been the same as the Sammy.

Also note that I first purchased a JVC 37X688 1080p model (a big step up from the above Sceptre) which I kept for about a week but I was very unsatisfied with the color accuracy & black levels it provided even after calibration so I exchanged it for the Toshiba which despite being 720p looks vastly better.

The Toshiba uses a 10-bit LCD panel, has 3 HDMI inputs + 2 component with a very high quality video processer, plus Toshiba has good warranty support if you have a problem. Its one drawback is a maximum resolution of 1024x768 via the VGA port although you can get 1366x768 from a PC using a DVI to HDMI converter.

Out of the 3 models you've listed its the best choice IMO.

Edit: If you'ed prefer a 42-inch screen Circuit City has the Toshiba 42HL67u for $1099 with free shipping & you can snag a 10% discount coupon off e-bay for a few bucks which will get it down to $989 + tax.

So this set has a 10bit panel with 14bit processing? Correct? How is the SD quality?

SD quality is about as good as it gets for a current-generation LCD HDTV ... digital SD channels look pretty good & analog vary from ok to crappy. Actually one of the secondary reasons I chose the Toshiba was the SD quality & the useful options available to stretch the picture to fill the screen without undue distortion.

Edit: Yes this TV has a 10-bit panel & 14-bit video processing.
