I purchased a bunch of games on the Steam sale and now I cannot decide what to play. I load up Steam, look at all the games, then just start playing TF2 because I am overwhelmed.

So I put it you, trusty PC Gaming forum to decide what I play next!

Star Wars: KOTOR
Assassin's Creed: DC
Ghostbusters
Titan Quest Gold
Killing Floor
Indigo Prophecy
Braid
The Witcher: EE DC

Any comments are welcome.

Thanks!

I said The Witcher because it's a good game and you've got to start somewhere in that long list!

Kotor is great, I've sunk so much of my free time into it over the past couple of days.

KOTOR

It's one of the best RPG's ever. Story is great, voice acting is well done, graphics are dated cus it's years old but fits it well.

KoTOR.

Tips (very slight spoilers):
- You don't start out as a Jedi. Plan ahead, don't choose feats for blasters or melee when you'll eventually be using a lightsaber (or dual-wielding them).
- Dual-wielding or using a double-bladed saber is ginsu-tastic, and highly recommended unless you pick the counselor (mage equivalent)
- Persuade is the one skill only you can use. Other party members can take care of everything else for you (not true in KoTOR _2_)
- You don't have to level up just because you can. Some people stop at level 6 until they reach the part of the story where you become a Jedi.
- Soylent Green is people!

Looks like it is skewing the way of KOTOR.

Anyone have ideas on how I can get it running at 1920x1200? I have to run it windowed now and it's very annoying. :\

Starting as the scoundrel class is a good way to go.

Not Assassin's Creed.

Titan Quest is good for some mindless button mashing if you're in the mood for that.

KotOR, definitely. I bought Assassin's Creed for $5 on Black Friday and am highly disappointed, even with the low price. The entire game is one big button mashing session with a pretty horrendous plot, and its extremely obvious they developed it for consoles and tacked on PC support after the fact. Leave it til last.

KOTOR is clearly the better game as it's the most addictive/fun game on the list, make no bones about it.

Play Witcher first and be done with, then move on to KOTOR.
If you move on to KOTOR first, you won't return to play any of the other games listed here for a while.

I'm using this same strategy as well.
I'm a strategy game whore and would like to jump into Civilization IV ASAP, but I'm afraid if I start playing I won't be able to play other games and would never return to them. That's why I started Torchlight first and just finished it, then will move to Stalker: Shadow of Cherbonyl, Bioshock, Mass Effect, and THEN Civilization IV.

Again, play Witcher first and be done with.

Crap, I started KOTOR (got it going at 19x12) and it's pretty damn awesome! I haven't gotten very far yet, but I'm dual-wielding a couple of swords and feel like a bit of a badass.

Maybe I' not far enough in that I can switch to The Witcher and get that done. KOTOR is pretty kickass so far though. :hmm:

In all honesty, after playing Assassin's Creed 2 I would never recommend the first to anybody anymore. I'd give that one a pass entirely.

KOTOR was a solid choice, as it's a great game that kept me hooked and I saw it through till the end.

I'd start playing Braid along side it as it's a shorter puzzle game that goes fairly quick at first, then gets pretty damn hard. You can play that till you get stuck then play other things.

Ghostbusters is worth playing too, as I thought it was pretty awesome if a little repetitive. Fairly short though so you shouldn't have any problems finishing it.

You can't go wrong with KOTOR. If you want a break from it though I'd recommend Indigo Prophecy next. It's fairly short but far more innovative than the other titles and after 30 minutes you'll know whether you want to finish it or not. All of the other games I would put in the "fun timesink" category where I think they'll be enjoyable, but they're entirely skippable at the same time.

I just downloaded the Witcher from the sale, so I've played that briefly. --the first game new to me in a year or two.

that being said, I'll say KOTOR.

Ghostbusters. It's a fun game and the SP will only take 8-10 hours to play through. Then you can move on to one of the lengthier games like The Witcher or KOTOR.

Pretty damn cool game. From looking at the dialogue choices it appears you can go either good or bad; does playing a good character vs. a bad character make a very big difference in the game, or is it minor like many of the other games where this sort of thing goes on?

Thanks all! If I can find the time I may fiddle around with some of the others as well, but I will probably end up sticking with KOTOR overall for now.
