Here's the machine:
AMD K6-II 500MHz
192Mb ram
Win98 SE
Linksys LNE100TX Nic

This computer is on a 3 computer LAN and sharing a cable internet connection. Everything has been working fine since I put it on the network. But today I went to transfer a file to it from another computer and Windows explorer crashed and burned. I tried to right click and copy, click and drag, but as soon as I click it just freezes. And the last time I tried it I got a BSOD after it froze. I haven't changed ANYTHING with the computer or the network settings. It can still access the internet it just can't transfer any files over the LAN. If anyone can make any sense of this please help me out.
Thanks.

What protocol are you using to transfer files? Net BEUI or TCP/IP or IPX/SPX.

If its Net BEUI just remove it, and restart the computer. Than add it back and see what happens. If that doesnt work try and add a FTP server to a machine and transfer files using FTP. If that works then its Net BEUI. And if you don't want to reformat just switch to IPX/SPX.

Do you perchance overclock this computer? Many network cards can't handled a tweaked FSB and end up causing major problems transferring large files. Stuff like Internet browsing, no problem. Another issue could be some kind of hardware conflict. Might check the IO and IRQ's to make sure the NIC isn't sharing with anything else.
