There will be a special place in the hellfire for you Dave Dombrowski.

Trading away our All-Star starting CF and all-around nice guy with a GREAT (read: cheap) contract to the effin Yankees. Oh and send an All-Star starting pitcher (they just fall out of trees, right) to the Dbacks.

For some hard-throwing prospects, yaaaayyy... D:

We still have Maggs, Guillen, Cabrera, Willis, Robertson under contract...full of hate right now.

I hope Cashman knows something about the Yankees farm system two years from now and has an ace for that eventual big trade cause Jackson and Kennedy were ostensibly our two top pieces.

Not sure how I feel about this yet, but it does address a big issue for the Yankees for this offseason, and we know how they are. Also, it's pretty cheap.

You've still got a ways to go to match the talent that the Indians have traded away over the last decade or so.

...and the 2x Marlins fire sales. :p

I remember seeing him play a couple of times during his brief time with the Toledo Mudhens.

As much as I naturally want to prefer the Cleveland Indians (I like rooting for the teams in the state), they aren't offering much, and more importantly, my hometown AAA team gets players moving up and down from Detroit, so by rooting for Detroit I'm rooting for the club and thus for my hometown. Otherwise I want nothing to do with that miserable city, having to put up with Toledo is bad enough. :p

Edwin Jackson is good but Ian Kennedy sucks. I don't get this move for the dbacks.

seriously the Indians club is managed as if monkeys are doing the managing, with the monkeys favoring the big players because they get more attention from them, so they hit their name on a big display and every now and then randomly hit the execute trade button. Indians are in need of some literate monkeys, that'd be a helluva step up.

I hope Cashman knows something about Austin Jackson that we don't because I don't get this trade at all. Jackson could be slipped into center and will probably be better then the declining Granderson within 2 seasons. If the Yankees are in the mood to trade arms, then offer up Kennedy, Joba, and Aceves + $$$ for Roy Halladay.

You guys can expect them to be horrible year after year. The Padres front office goal was to put together a team that was barely better than the rest of the NL West using a mix of AAA players and old journeymen who rent a motel 6 room by the week. If we were luckily we'd win one game in the playoffs, but usually the team fell apart.

From what I've heard about Jackson, his ceiling is about a Granderson type - given the age of guys like Jeter, Arod, and Posada, they might as well get that production now while these guys are still championship calibre players. With the way the Yankees can throw cash at draft picks, they can replenish the farm more easily than most of the league.

Hahahaha, this is hilarious. Curtis Granderson averages 25 homers a year...Austin Jackson will never hit 25 in a season. Austin Jackson is highly, highly overrated, and will not be as good of a player as Granderson.
