I hate the wrong type of gore in movies.

Gore is good in movies, but some extreme kind of it put me off beyond a point, especially while its pointless.

Like in AvP Requiem where the gore was excessive on kids and pregnant mothers and not enough of action.

There can be right type of gore and the wrong type too.

Sadly Al Gore and gore is a meme. On ___chan, a gore thread consists of pictures of mangled bodies and pictures of Al Gore.

Gore (not Al) is often used in movies to create emotional responses where the storytelling is unable to do so. I like gore but I prefer movies where it is used as a natural extension of telling the story, not as a device to evoke emotions on its own. Most gory movies could do with a lot less gore and a lot better directing, editing and sound/music score.

Alfred Hitchcock is one of my favorite directors. No gore at all yet the storytelling puts you on the edge of your seat.

The gore in Hostel 2 was so ridiculous and over the top that I almost found myself laughing during parts of the movie.

But better directing, editing and score costs a lot of money, while movie gore is cheap. That's why there's so much of it. And people seem to be willing to pay for such movies even though there's precious little plot.

I like realistic gore. I hate movies that hide it just to get a "PG-13" rating.

I hope in the future scientists discover a way to clone humans without brains. These clones could be used as stunt doubles in movies and actually killed on film, just imagine how real it would look.

Depends what kind of movie I'm watching and how the gore is portrayed.


Afterall you can't watch a Troma movie and not expect the gore to be out of hand and humourous.

I like gore when it's used to enhance the ambience of the movie's environment. It's used a lot in Saving Private Ryan, BoB, and Black Hawk Down to illustrate the horrors of war, for example. But just showing bloody stuff in scary movies is dumb.

I find the gore of movies like Hostel to be stupid. But then again I don't get off on beating up dudes who crash my frat parties.

Give me creepy gore like House of 1000 or some of the early gore films of the 60's and 70's.
