Just moved into a new neighborhood and six of my neighbors are the man! Policemen, that is. Enforcers of the MAN! Feels very safe and uncomfortable at the same time.

Just consider it your part of Ted Steven's Bridge to Nowhere!

I'm currently cringing as I get my bonus check this Thursday.

I hate the man too! I got a bonus check at work today and they deducted FORTY FIVE PERCENT!!! in taxes!!

Your payroll personnel suck. They should have increased the pay frequency for that check and it wouldn't have been so bad.

uh, no. Bonuses are considered special compensation and are taxed at 25% for federal withholding, add the 7.65 fpr FICA and his state and/or local tax. There's no way around the 25% rate.

Are bonuses like a gift?

Of course, if you're that displeased, you're free to move to a country that has no income taxes payable to the man. Or at least to one where it won't be noticed that you haven't paid.

Of course, that privelage may entail payments to various government employees that will come to your door in the middle of the night. As well as your loss of free speech, free press, freedom of religion, freedom of movement, etc.

Just a thought.

Taxes could easily be cut by a third or more by ending socialist government programs, pork barrel spending and waste.

The truth he speaks.

Yeah, our quarterly bonuses are taxed at the gift rate too. You get taxes back at the end of the year, but still sucks.

And another third by getting rid of corporate handouts and tax breaks
