Everyday I get at least two or three unsolicited phone calls from MCI. What the heck is wrong with these people? How many times do I have to tell them that I'm not interested before they'll stop calling me? :disgust::|:disgust:

We've been attacked by crazy bank people, crazy newpaper people, and even once by a Mercedez dealer that offered us a free test drive on a SLK or something...
Easiest way to get rid of 'em is to just hang up, after a couple of tries, they seem to get the point.

I like to tell newspaper people that i can't read...that usually helps keep them from calling

if you keep getting calls from the same place, tell them to remove you from their list. I hate telemarketers... I get calls everyday.

Once! Tell them to put you on their 'Don't Call List'. If they call aagin, they risk being fined about $500.00. It's the law!

say; "Put me on teh do not call list."
If you write down date/time of when they called, if they call you back, after you tell them that, within 1 year, then you can sue them for up to $500. At least, that's what they said on t.v. a couple years ago :)

Since all of the bigtime telemarketers, such as MCI, use T1 lines to place their calls, their callerid shows up as "Unknown Caller." Our teleco has a service that if an unknown caller calls our number, they get a recording and must press #1 to continue and they also must say their name/company before the teleco's system calls our number. When someone on our end answers, it'll ask us "Do you wish to accept a call from XXX?" If not, you just hang up. It's been over a year since we began testing that service, and well, we haven't had a single telemarketer call that line since.

Yeah, it never says "MCI" on the caller ID. If it did, I wouldn't even bother to pick up the phone.

Thank you for the advice. I have to stop this insanity. I have recieved at least 100 calls from MCI in past few months.

Caller ID! I love it... couldn't live without it... and don't answer the phone 90% of the time because of it. :D

I'm on some state of florida list now. Telemarketing calls have all but ceased. They can recieve huge fines if they solicit people on those lists
