Heh you havent laugh out loud at Subway until you go into one and they are out of effing bread. Why even keep the open sign lit when you cant make a subway?
btw this has happened on at least two times at different locations.
Edit: Oh i also get irritated when they use Miracle Whip instead of Mayo but dont tell you until you bite down and get that awful sweet taste from the Whip, instead of that real Mayo flavor.

Subway handles their franchising differently than most other chains.

Subway's rapid growth can be attributed to its somewhat unique business model. Unlike most franchisers, the parent company does not operate any restaurants. You must have never worked in a restaurant before? Pickles usually come in 5 gallon buckets that are RESEALABLE and I only need a few slices of tomato. Call it what you want, the kid was a retard and so are you. Why even bother to have the doors open if you can't serve what you have on the menu?
I'd have told the little puke at the counter, to go open some vegatables....I'll wait. If he gave me an excuse, I'd have said, I don't care if you gotta go to the store and get them, but get the job done. I am your customer, and I demand proper service, got it?

I will agree that Subway seems to be "hit or miss"
The Subway by me very rarely runs out of anything. Also the employees and owner are very friendly. It's actually a pleasure to walk to subway for lunch and grab a quick sandwich. That being said, I'm a regular there (within walking distance from the datacenter where I work), so they are all familiar with me.
It sucks that the one by you needs to get their act together.

A couple of months ago I went to the local Subway with a friend to grab lunch. It's the closest place to eat, at we're both lazy as fvck, so I'm willing to make an exception to my "SUBWAY SUCKS" policy.
1. The two girls behind the counter (couldn't have been older than 17 going by looks, 3 if you go by the way they were acting) are clearly drunk, intoxicated in some other way, or mentally retarded. I'm not joking about these being the only possible scenarios.
2. One girl went "porno voice" when asking what we wanted on the sandwiches, MUCH to the amusement of the other.
3. The sandwiches tasted like crap; stale bread, bad veggies, etc.
4. I believe I heard a comment or two about my "nice ass" on the way out.
5. The sandwiches tasted like crap; stale bread, bad veggies, etc.
Needless to say, my "SUBWAY SUCKS" policy has been enforced strictly to this day.

My Subway that is closest to me is great. 🙂 I love Subways 🙂
