Okay, you have a dog. You are jogging with it. The dog is a puppy, full of energy. You decide to run right next to my dog who is still full of energy though he's 5. You stop next to my dog....

Of course the two are gonna wanna play.

So stupid

Not sure what the problem is. "Wanting to play" is a problem? They didn't fight. That's the ideal outcome. Why aren't you encouraging it?

Ya. I agree, I don't get it. What's the problem here? Socializing her puppy?

1) i was listening to music
2) i dont think she was trying to socialize her puppy at all, since there were other dogs around

Still not understanding your discomfiture. Why did the pups playing interfere with your music listening? Did she just want to talk and you didn't?

I was walking ---->
She was running --->
so the same direction, she came from behind me
the dog got all hyper/playful, owner could not pull the pup away from my dog.

she should have gone to the other side of the street and kept on jogging instead of trying to jog past my dog

I really don't see why this 'problem' is worthy of it's own thread.

That's what puppies do. You are not supposed to go across the street and avoid other dogs, you are supposed to let puppies meet other dogs so they become social and able to play nice with other dogs, animals, children, etc.

I think your parents should have spent more time socializing you.

While I agree there are worse fates than socializing the dog, I also agree there are few things more annoying than a dog yanking at it's leash when you're not in the mood.

God you fail hard. Please just do the public a favor and never leave your (parents') house.

I just want to finish my dogs walk. My dog, when he gets excited, starts barking and sometimes the other dogs owner thinks he is vicious, thats why I dont particularly enjoy it.

The puppy is (from my point of view) around 2. My dog is 5. When my dog gets hyper, he barks and it sometimes comes off as "your dog is trying to attack my dog".

I'm asian, what do you expect? :p

My dog is 3 and does the same thing as yours, only if he's on a leash. But that's EXACTLY why he (and clearly your dog too) needs to be socialized MORE, not less. You should not be avoiding interaction, it will only make the problem worse. You should be going to dog parks where your dog can meet dozens of other dogs.

Yeah, you should totally avoid socializing your dog, and also avoid talking to women wherever possible.
