what's the status of this thread?

it's been in progress for 2 years and people at the top are starting to ask questions about when it's going to be done.
That was covered in the pre-"status meeting" meeting. Feel free to schedule an impromptu post-"status meeting" meeting to discuss things we just discussed but without the people who have left the room already, so we can have another meeting with them later.

Do a study on what the meetings are costing in terms of production and service. The only thing corps understand is money. Of course, if there's a top dog's ego involved, they don't even understand that.
It's how managers justify their jobs. They don't give a shit about company's money versus their jobs.

I give status to 5 or 6 different management chains every week, and of course they all have a different format and different stuff they want. Complete waste of time. The total project is ~7 years of design, yet have to have weekly status meetings and report new "accomplishments" every week.

On top of 2 daily "tag-ups." Hard as shit to get anything done when you have 25+ hours a week of meetings.

My daily status meetings are pretty boring as well, mostly because I spend most of my day doing the same damn things every day. Do you really need a reminder what I'm working on, when most of it hasn't changed in months?
