Dude, you need professional help. Go see a therapist, a psychologist, a psychiatrist or a hooker.

Start with the hooker.

You know he'll just fuck that up too...

it's winter in the northwest jackass, what do you expect? sunshine and tropics?

Hah! Nicely done.

shut the fuck up. I've lived in Oregon and in Seattle- you're miserable because you're a miserable person. Seattle is great. And the weather is the same fucking weather as in portland so I can't believe you even brought that up. If anything, it's a bit warmer on average.

*edit* I see the temp thing has already been discussed.

Century Ballroom does Swing and Salsa nights that I believe are all-ages. Cover might even be free before a certain time, and even when there is a cover I think it's only like $7. Take a look on their website, I can't be bothered to look myself right now.

Century Ballroom does some 21+ dances. They all cost money. I'm more worried about how I would park.

I felt the same way when I was up in New York this week.

Glad to be back in Houston

Fuck this place. :colbert:

Been here and I hate it. It's fucking cold(even on sunny days that are infrequent), rainy, full of stuck-up jackasses, and creeps. Everything that is wrong with people shines through here in a more civilized society.

I miss Portland now. :'(

If you disagree, prove why it's fucking great.

Well for me the weather is a plus, not a negative, but I agree with you on the rest.

Preferably all four.

OP, I know you're just an attention-whoring troll that gets his kicks from getting a rise out of people on the internet, but for the love of Christ... STFU already.

Take a bus?

and you're right about the u-district being somewhat "ghetto".. but we're you're not in west seattle or compton for that matter 😛. just be smart and you'd be fine like any other city

You complain of shitty weather, jackasses, and creeps and then the place you want to go back to is...Portland? Must be a troll thread.

Sibling rivalry. Northeast cities like Philly, NYC, and Boston all talk shit about how much the other city sucks...but you don't really realize until you live in another part of the country how similar they are.

For all the bad things I said about NYC in my youth, I'd take it over Seattle in a heartbeat.....

Seattle is cold? It is warmer than half of the country including New England.

I can understand it if you came from SoCal, but Portland? Hahahaha.

Anybody gets depressed from weather is big wuss. Weather is part of life, if you can't handle it, then maybe you shouldn't live.

I loved Seattle and Portland both!

Perfect weather year round. None of this snow crap like Ohio.

It's so warm here in upstate NY that when I spent most of last Saturday outside, my beard froze.

Didn't stop me from going back out and cooking a nice steak on my charcoal grill, though.

(you know it's cold out when the beer you just pulled from the fridge inside tastes like it's warm)

You have the ocean, mountains, fairly mild temps and city with at least a decent amount of identity and culture. You could be in the midwest where we have none of that. Stop looking at the negatives and start seeing some positives.

Potland eh, are you a hipster? You should be fitting right in.

Well, night life isn't really within my means anyway... you know, since going to clubs and shit requires getting drunk... and since I don't drink nor can I for another 9 months or whatever. (Not like I will in my life anyway)

Yep, you sound like a hipster. Unnecessary tangents about useless crap. I hope Seattle doesn't like you!

This time of year, yes, its warmer. In the other half of the year, Seattle is considerably colder than the northeast.

You say that like it's a bad thing. PacNW has probably one of the best summers in the country. Sunny, low humdity, and really doesn't get extremely warm(Mid 70's being the normal high end?)...just 2 months of awesome IMHO.

Meh. They're generally sunny, which is good, but they're too damn cold. It gets into the 50s every night. 75 in the day and 55 at night is not summer.

I moved to Seattle from Pittsburgh in September.

You've got to be kidding me bitching about it being "cold". Its been generally hovering in the upper 30's/mid 40's for the past two months. In case you're not aware, it's JANUARY.

With that said, besides a few weeks ago where there was miraculously no clouds for 4 or 5 consecutive days, I'll admit it's constantly dreary as all hell. I thought I was used to overcast weather in Pittsburgh, but damn. Pittsburgh overcast = partly cloudy. Seattle overcast = impenetrable blanket of grey.

I also feel this ironic picture is necessary for this thread (it's now framed):
