I'm actually in the eight grade. I got sent out of class today for talking. Because I had been sent out before I got "demerits," and detention... and if I get in any more trouble I will not be allowed to go on the trip to D.C., and I will get more demerits and be suspended.

I was thinking I'd like to go to MIT some day, but maybe I will forget about it and give up entirely. I can't stand it any more. How long do you need to go to school for? Until you turn 16?

How about you quit bitching. Your parents aren't going to let you drop out of school early, so you might as well just bear it for the next 5-9 years. I'm a senior in HS now and I've hated every year more than the last, but it probably beats dropping out.

The point is... without an education your not going far these days... im not saying its true in ALL situations, but generally speaking it is true... hell, im a senior in high school, and im only going to a junkie community college for my first two years just to see how i like the whole college thing... its not that glamorous, but its cheap, and will get me a degree in the feild i am looking for, IT...

Yeah, sure. Your probably pretty self-sufficient by now. You don't even have custody of yourself until you turn 18, so you might as well forget about it.

I figured I'd be an entepreneur anyways, and I could learn a helluva lot more in the free time I'd have than I ever could at school. Right now at my school there is one computer course, which lasts for half the year, and during that half you have it during half the cycle, and it is taught by the social studies teacher and he doesn't seem to know much about computers. I have it next semester but from what I heard it mainly involves how to change the text color in MS Word.

Doing what? Consulting work for a fortune 500 company? I know your just bitching, but even if you were serious, nobody would take you for real. Maybe you could flip burgers for McDonalds or something.

Instead of bashing every comment you make (like Deicide), why dont you just get some certifications while you are finishing up school... chances are, right out of high school, your not going to get much more than a help desk type of a job, unless you want to do web design, then you can do contract work, and if you are good enough, make a quite a bit of money for a 17 or 18 year old...

In general, if you don't have at least a HS diploma you're on the road to welfare. You all but need a college degree if you want any shot at upper middle class or above. Of course there are exceptions, but don't count on your being one. I would say to just play the system until you have enough money to say to hell with the system. Ride out HS and college, and a few years in a bad job, then find a way to be your own boss and you can tell everyone who tries to run your life to fvck off. At least that's my plan.
