I bought a Cisco 678 DSL modem/router (yeah I know, it's not REALLY a router), from them back in may for ~$450 (which I still have yet to recieve my rebate for.) I used it for about two months, then I moved and cancelled my service, cuz DSL wasn't available yet at my new house. A few weeks ago, they ran some new lines by my house and told me that it was for DSL service. So I called up today to order new service, told them that I already had a modem. Well, turns out they don't use that modem anymore. I have to buy a new modem for another $450. Then I asked him if I hadn't moved, would I still need to buy a new modem, and he said no. Why the hell would it still work there, and not at my new house? Then I asked if they had a purchase protection or buy-back plan to make it so that I don't need to spend as much to get connected again, and again the answer was no. WTF gives? this sucks.
