well i hope to have psp buried with my corpse so i can play in the afterlife with king tut and ramses ii.
 
But my PSP plays games and now I can convert movies to be able to watch my collection on it. Not to mention play movies, photos, and alot more I woul dnever get rid of it at all.
 
I'm saying PSPs and all the like have altered us so that we think we need these new toys cuz they're really awesome and what not and they create unecessary hype. I see hype about FX-57 as more reasonable than hype about a toy like this.

And some PSP games are great I admit but I think the whole general thing about game consoles and PSPs are sometimes a waste...

Ok, Halo is a great game. I like it a lot. But why do we need XBox to play Halo? What's wrong with playing on the computer at a lan party? We can port all those shooter driving games to the PC and not deal with game consoles. I think Nintendo had games right from the start. Games like Mario, Super Smash, Mario Party are great on console. You can't play those on PC, but all the other games?? ehhhh... I always watch my roommate play ESPN NBA 2k5 and it's pretty lame. It's simplified when you compare it to NBA Live 2005 on PC. The day you can beat the Lakers or 92 dream team with the Golden State Warriors on Superstar mode, be sure to give me a call. I swear PC games are just a notch above console games.
 
i've watched part of a movie on one, and played some Tiger Woods on one as well. as far as handheld gaming goes, it's pretty much the cat's ass. just chill out dude, it won't kill ya.

Camera phones may be pointless (although I dont think so), but they are integrated now. You're still getting the phone for a phone. If a PDA is used right it gets rid of the appointment book/address book. Thus I see the PDA is a decent product. It's that you can do so much more than organize that it's so great.

The purpose of the PSP as with game consoles and portable gaming is different. It doesn't replace anything. It just adds a new niche for the gaming community while offering the capabilities that many other devices have.

DLeRium: The advantages to console games:
Cost of entry. Try picking up a PC for $150 that'll play newer games.
Ease of use. No drivers, no "is my system powerful enough". A Gamecube is a Gamecube, a PS2 is a PS2, and an Xbox is an Xbox. As long as you're not a moron when it comes to telling the guy which one to pick up, you're okay.
Size. All you need is a couple square feet in a shelf under your TV for a 100% complete system.
 
Ok and a Mac Mini or a SFF PC won't do? You spend $150 but you gotta get games games more games etc etc accessories...

Well, lets do an apples to apples comparison, without resorting to using Apples...

Spec me out an SFF PC (incl. software) that would be suitable for playing Halo.
Xbox: $150
Halo: $20
Total cost: $170

I won't even go into multiplayer 🙂

Bah, halo sucks compared to Counterstrike and battlefield.

Ok it sucks according to you. Then why get game consoles? I like Halo personally, although I think much of the fun comes from the console alone? That's why Halo for PC is ehhhhh...
