I hate political correctness, double standards, all of that.

Just ran across this story on ESPN:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4625914&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines

The National Organization for Women is pressing for Tom Cable to be suspended while there's an investigation about him having a history of violence towards women. What's the issue? Well, there was another story going around - that led to this one - that he was punching his assistants. While that was a story, no one was really pushing to have him suspended during the investigation. But now rumor has it he hit a woman....STOP THE PRESSES, GET HIM OFF THE STREETS, HES NOT A ROLE MODEL. Moral of the story is - you can beat your subordinates, but not your wife!

Similarly, last night we were watching the World Series. Tim McCarver was talking about Matsui, and how his contract was up with the Yankees. He said the only team he can foresee him going to is Seattle, because he could be with fellow Japanese player Ichiro. Um....what? Japanese players have to play together? No one seemed upset by this...can you imagine if he'd said "When Jimmy Rollins' contract is up, you bet he'll end up staying with Ryan Howard, those black players have to stick together" The uproar would have been huge.

Sorry, weak rant, but double standards piss me off.

The NFL held off on doing anything with Tom Cable because there was an ongoing criminal investigation. There is no ongoing criminal investigation into his beating his wife. He should be suspended for beating an assistant coach, not for beating his wife years ago.

Oh yea, and there are petitions for Larry Johnson to be permanently suspended because he used the word "i love you" around a reporter. This is a guy that has been arrested numerous times, no one cared....but use a non-politically correct word, get him out of there!!!! He can't be allowed in the Chief's record book!!

Double standards are everywhere where have you been? It's ok for black/mexican people to be racist, it's ok to put down and berate men on tv but can't do it towards women, the list goes on..........

No joke.

Seeing a mexican with BROWN PRIDE tattooed all over is fucking sick.

If you hate double standards, I hope you don't get off on watching girls make out. Or, if you do, I hope you think it's cool for guys to make out even when they have girlfriends. Roger that.

I guess it's a good sign for our society if the things people get pissed about are as trivial and stupid as this.

Why would I care what they do?

you really don't understand why a Japanese player would want to play on a team with other Japanese playesr? This is stupid.

That wasn't the point, slugger. Read the rest of the paragraph.
