I agree with a few other posters in that I don't care so much if someone doesn't use a blinker in a turn lane. In that case, it's more to help the people traveling in the opposite direction, as they may or may not be paying attention to the fact that you're in a turn-only lane, and might instead think you're going straight.

But not using a blinker to signal a lane change is definitely a pet peeve of mine. It takes essentially no effort to do, and despite what you may think in terms of the world revolving around your particular vehicle, I might not necessarily know ahead of time that you're going to be moving into the lane next to me just as I'm doing the same. It's even worse if someone cuts you off and begins traveling at a substantially slower speed than you...all without using a turn signal.

I find it annoying when people who are flying down the highway (90mph+) zipping left and right through traffic and using their blinkers like we can't see them. If you're going to go that fast and drive reckless, I think we're gonna notice you without your blinkers. And furthermore, by the time they turn on the blinker, they've already gotten into the lane and it's virutally uesless. Sometimes they switch it on/off so fast that it hardly blinks any.

My personal favorite is people that will not pull up in intersections when they are turning left so as the traffic behind can pass.

I prefer it when people use their blinkers. It's both courteous and safer to let other drivers know exactly what changes in speed/direction you'll be making. If someone's in a turn lane, I don't care if they have a blinker on or not, even though I always do. It's automatic: if the wheel is about to turn past ninety degrees or so, the blinker goes on. Occasionally, I have to stop myself from putting my blinker on when taking a sharp curve in a road.

I freakin' hate turning. What with having to turn my head to look where I'm going, having to turn the wheel to redirect my car, and now all this "turn signal" rigmarole, it's just too much hassle. I'm driving straight from now on. It's up to other people to reposition my destinations correctly.

Annoying, yes, but it's to keep themselves clear of prosecution from the law. ;)
