<< However, the state only has a small area that doesn't suck: Bayville, Seaside and surrounding environs. >>

Seaside? Are you on something?? Seaside is the sleaziest part of the beach in the entire state! Only reason people go there is because of prom weekend! The motels smell like urine, the boardwalk is ultimate cheese, and the people who live around there dont even go themselves!

You'll probably want to avoid New York, as well. The weather is worse (in spots), and the pollution and high car insurance aren't much better than in NJ. Add in the higher rent and constant threat of terrorist attacks, and you'll find yourself wanting to move to Montana in no time.

<< Good to see there is NJ pride here.

It really isnt that bad of a state at all. The only reason people think that way is because they land in Newark airport and all they get to see of the state is that tiny little area.

I mean, how can this be bad: I am looking out my window and see corn fields and trees and if I walk down the street I can see a llama farm and some cows. In a few minuites I will be heading out to hang out in NYC for the night and then coming back home where the stars will be shining clearly above. Most of this state is a great place to be in.. too bad people dont take notice of most of it.

I live on the east coast in the center of NJ. (right near the crevasse). Everythign is pretty much within 1:30 hours from me.. NYC, Philly, Atlantic City, Red Bank is 15 mins away, Seaside Heights, Point Pleasant, Sandy Hook, Trenton. I live in Monmouth county, it's been rated top 10 best places to live in USA (probably cosmopolatin). I live in the suburbs... housing complexes everywhere, 10 mins from the beach. Unfortunetly, there isn't much to do around here... movies/resteraunt/pool/bowling is about it. But that's how it is everywhere except for places like NYC. NJ really is awesome, parts of NJ look completely different from each other... there are nice neighborhoods and there are not. Just depends on where you live.

I lived in NJ for almost 22 years of my life, and I don't know what you guys are talking about with regards to the smell. Yes, when you're going up the NJ Turnpike and you open your windows from exit 13 - 15W you really really regret it! ... But the majority of NJ smells just fine.

I just moved to Northern VA in August, and all I have to say is I like NJ a lot more! If anyone thinks drivers in NJ are bad, come to Northern VA, where people like to do 90 mph when it rains or snows and then drive blindly into the guy in front of you! ... People down here drive like nutcases, and move way too slow in stores. Its like they get all of their aggression out driving, and then are so tired they walk around like zombies the rest of the time ...

I'd take NJ over VA any day ... but right now I have a job that pays the bills in VA.

I will admit that PBurg is really weird with its roads though, they have roads that are 1-way that lead to roads that are 1-way, but the wrong direction! So you end up getting stuck going the wrong way down a 1-way street to get out. But the majority of NJ roads are just fine ... You just need to learn to love jug-handles!

Jughandles are your friend! Nothing like a PA Driver trying to make a left on Route 1 in the middle of the intersection!

Personally I like where I live in NJ (below the east of Philly line ;)), south Jersey is all suburbia and farms, not nearly as bad as north. North Jersey isn't too bad either in the rich areas, my uncle has a mansion there, but Newark is New York's sh!thole and all surrounding areas are brought down by it.

Cherry Hill isn't bad, dunno what you are smoking or where you were driving but most roads are pretty straight through it.

NJ is a nice place to live, specially only an hour from the shore :D

Scotts Plains, New Jersey.... <insert "Spirit of the Radio Intro">

Maybe someone gets that one?

Well if you don't like here, then leave. I am sure us Jersey people won't miss your presence. By the way whats your name again?
And Jersey is a pretty clean state by the way.
