Also, very little of NJ is polluted area-wise.  A lot of it is suburban and most of it is rural with cornfields and silos and cows.  It's not called the Garden State for nothing.

You are right that there are farms a lot of farms in the south, and very north west (Sussex), but this state smells more than others. And try looking at the sky, and then go to the middle of nowhere, USA and do the same.  The light pollution here is bad. >>
Bah!  Sitting in my front yard on a clear night I can see tons of stars!  Not much of anything out by me.. at least at this point in time.  I have to agree with Klee on this one.  I love this state!  Where else can you be one days drive of NYC, Philly, and Boston, the boardwalk, and a place to gamble?
