i get up at 430..leave house at 515...get to work at 6pm, work till 6 am, drive home...get home 645. 4 times a week. And the worste prt, the building i work in IS entirely made of Asbestos Walls. Its as big as 10 of the largest walmart stores put together. it was built in 1930s, is fallin apart, i breath product{boric acid, Borax, etc}......I work alone....dont see anybody except maybe 30 minutes a shift. and my job has a lot of labor involved. I am located near death valley in the summer it hits 120 degrees allllllll day sometimes high 120s. and my building has no air conditioning. the roof is missing in a lot of parts and so are some awalls.

the good news is...i get paid 22$ an hour, got awesome medical , etc. vacation of 2 weeks a year.

should i stay? should I go? i know the job market is bad....There are no jobs in this town unless i work for gold mines, or military...{gold mines are gunna shut down soon and work is bad, worse pay}.

wut is yer opinions? tell me how bad you got it so i can be happy that i ave a job...

thanx' for lettin me ramble, please no flamming{zips up fireproof suit}.

sorry to hear that..

there is no harm putting your resume out there... but be sure you get similar pay and benefits.. before moving.

Do both CA and NV and other states

Only two weeks vacation . . . . ? That kinda blows. I get around four, and the more tenured guys get as much as eight.

You do know about Asbestos right? Im assuming you do. Does your medical coverage cover Asbestos induced lung cancer? Me, i like the desert. The heat doesnt bother me to much and the wildlife is great. At night the desert just comes alive and its perfect. It doesnt seem that it is a very safe place to work. REally its up to you if you have the money to support a move. And what about the work missed when you move, assuming you move w/o getting a new job?

As for how bad I got it? Right now i cant sleep, The Ring has me. I dont think i can ever look a burnett in the eyes again, ESPECIALY if they have long hair. The worst part,
my girlfriend is a burnett with long hair. SH!T! As for a job... it sucks. (but hey dont they all?)

Keep your job... at least until have another one lined up for sure. After being unemployeed for the last 5 months I can tell you for sure that you do not want to be unemployeed in this time of our economy!

Wear a gas mask and an orange jumpsuit. Tell people you work at a top secret government facility.

Anyone that get $22/hour and full medical and has little education should not complain about their job.

Want to complain? I went to school four years, do software now (for a ship builder) and the laborers in the ship yard get paid as much as me. I busted my ass to get where I am and the shipyard workers have unions that bitch for more money. Those scum don't deserve what they get paid. F UNIONS!

I started hating it at the 45 minute daily drive each way. That's 6 hours of work each week that you're not getting paid for. $132 per week that you will never see, not to mention, $15-20 weekly in wasted gasoline. So your job screws you out of about $7000 per year there, bud.

The 4 day week somewhat redeems the doldrums of your 13.5 hour days. But the hazardous chemicals and a building that's ready to fall on top of you make it crud.

$22 is almost enough, but not quite, at least for me. Hey, a man's got to have principles!

Didn't want to hear that? But you asked, right?

I'd get away from that Asbestos stuff..

A friend of mine died from Abestos induced lung cancer, it's not very cool....

Try and find another job first before you quit though, that's if you want to change jobs. It's up to you in the end...
