I hate my chemistry teacher sooo much

Lets start off with school policy, if you have an excused absence you are allowed 5 school days to make w\e the hell up

I had to take my AP US H test on friday, the same day as my chemistry quiz
This was an excused absence... I was gone the whole day
Today in class the chemistry teacher tells me that I have to take the quiz tomorrow or she will put a zero in as the grade ... :|

The problem is, is that my dads car is the shop so he is driving mine thus i have to ask a friend to take to work at 3 pm
(school ends at 2:10, i need to eat and change plus i cant ask a friend to wait 45 mins so I can take a quiz...im lucky i even have a ride )
thus ruling out an after school make-up
My plan was to take it on thursday after school because I dont have work, she wont let me :| :| :|

a.) just accept it
b.) have your dad call your teacher
c.) talk to a higher up

One of these decisions is good in the long term (assuming you didn't get into a fight already with the teacher)
The other decisions could have a negative long term affect on your grade.

Is it a quiz or a test? i.e. what % is it of your grade?

Look at it from the teacher's perspective, if you take it on Thursday you're getting an advantage over the other kids. It's one thing to turn in a homework late that's worth x amount of points, but if it's a test that's 20% of your grade and you've already gotten the weekend to study + two more days...well you can see why she wants you to take it asap.
 
You are in high school. You have almost no rights and really don't matter too much. I suggest you find a way to make up the quiz when she says and deal with the inconveniences. The last thing you want to do is go to the Principle and complain about a teacher who is in control of your grade. Deal with it.

I would be willing to bet you lots of dollars that this is completely wrong. When you're excused an absence, you have that many days to make up the work from the day you missed. You were gone one day, you get one day to make it up.

Start studying.
 
yah i agree with Jschmuck2.

You're lucky that your absence was on a Friday. And, you really have no rights in high school.

I understand the whole long term thing thats why I didnt say anything much during class

Quiz: 15% we have taken 14 quizzes this is the last of the semester

I have a 93ish in the class

2) Up to five days makeup? Or must be on the 5th day?
 
just thank the teacher for giving you the chance to make it up. (she might have had to make a new quiz since you could have talked with other students...etc)

you're on the bubble for an A. You're better off sucking it up/trying to protect your grade than take a chance by pissing off the teacher.

You're wrong.

You have X days to make up the work when X is the amount of days you missed.

If you attend the one high school in Sugar Hill, Georgia, that's their policy. At least according to a few of the syllabi I've found online.

So quit bitching and go back to having chemistry study you, kiddo.
