Build me a system that is similar in performance to the Mac Pro for the same price. Please.

I hate those too. They either make the smallest thing thats better in a mac, like the detachable power cord, and blow them up into the best selling point, or they just blatantly make up steriotypes about PC users.
You know what Apple, fvck you. I can build a faster PC than it would cost for you Mac trash. I get it already. Your classy and stylish. If I ever want a sex change, ill look you up.
OS X is like a gift from the operating system gods but isn't drastically wonderfully better than windows that some people would have you believe.

I can build a Core 2 Duo system for half the price of the Mac Pro that will have the same if not a smidge better performance because I'm using Core 2 Duos and not the Xeon. I'd could happily list out the parts and total price, and alo explain to you why two dual core processors at 2.66 aren't any better than a single dual core processor at the same clock - unless you're rendering crystal balls or ripping porn videos.
However, you'd simply run back to Apple.Com and quote some more smack nobody in the technology industry other than Apple users believe. This is why Apple has a 5% market share in the home market and .001% on the corporate market (if that).
Here's a question for you: please show me an iMac faster than the Mac Pro. Intel makes Core 2 Duos that Apple could easily slap into a tower that would beat the Mac Pro in price and speed just like my rig above. The problem is that Apple won't do this because they want to keep their Mac Pro users happy and thinking they have the superior platform. We PC users on the other hand don't have to deal with being told by our OS maker what tier platform we can run, and can pick and choose our own.

POS.
1. Yes, you can. Apple + delete.
2. Yes, you can. Apple + J on the Desktop.
3. This is actually a good thing...why waste desktop space? The green button actually maximizes the window based on the content on the page. Why would you make a window bigger then the content it's showing?
Yeah, because there have been so many PPC processors made for systems that weren't apple. I bet there were tons of Dreamcast users who were just itching to put their CPU in their tower.Originally posted by: Raduque

Yea, because you're never allowed to change the hardware, except ram and HDs.

Which version? OSX is so perfect Apple is on their fifth version of it while I still use Win2K server for very large image editing.
This is funny because the the average Apple user I know is running a newer version of OSX than the average Windows user, yet Apple users will be quick to point out that OSX is better than Windows because it doesn't have to upgraded as much.

Find me a PC laptop that has the same dimensions as the 15" macbook pro (C2D) and yields the same or better performance and specs for the price
You do make a good point about marketing.Originally posted by: spikespiegal

Speaking of cabbages, I've had more intelligent conversations with most of them than Apple users.
Here's another question for Apple user they don't have the nuts to answer. For the past like, decade, I've heard nothing from the Apple crowd about how Intel sucks and Motorola will take over corporate computing. Then it was the IBM processor that ruled while Apple coulnd't give away Xservers. Now you guys are running over to the Core Duo so you can run apps inside Rosetta and take a huge performance hit. Gee, if you're hardware was so good before, why are you now raving about Intel? This would be like ATI using NVidia GPU's on their cards while ATI fanboys bad mouthed Nvidia.
So, if you've been full of crap for the past decade, what makes you not full of crap now?
Why does any version of Windows 9.x onward have automatic update set automatically?Originally posted by: spikespiegal
Oh yeah - if OSX requires fewer updates than Windows, why is there a big fvcking button that says 'upgrade OSX' when you log into the damn things?

I don't use laptops because they suck in terms of price/performance, and I find most of the people using them don't care how much they cost because mommie and daddy are already paying their college tuition.
Dig?
I also owned my first portable MP3 player in 1998, it was much lighter than an iPod, smaller than an iPod, more durable than an iPod, cheaper than an iPod, and used a better DAC than an iPod. Funny what you find when you aren't a part of Apple's universe.

Yup. As a computer consultant who works with medium sized institutions I can verify that the only people to buy Apple laptops are college kids. :roll:Originally posted by: AmigaMan

yep, so everyone who uses laptops in businesses and school only has them because their mommies and daddys bought it for them. You got it buddy, you nailed it right on the head. I think we should get rid of laptops and stick with bringing our desktops to meetings and classrooms.
I think I've pegged your age at about 12. Maybe 11. You're certainly not old enough to actually use a computer for anything productive yet.

He always advocates these strange OSs from decades ago that nobody has ever heard of. Not for their practicality, of course, but for their conceptual advantge.
