Every single wireless netgear router I have attempted to setup has failed in 5 minutes or less. I think thats 4 in a row. They just lock up time and time again. I hate how they demand a connection too.

d-link is crap, and i've had mixed experiences with netgear, but never had a problem with linksys. they are my go-to company whenever i need reliability over value.

Anyone realize that at least one person by now has said each brand sucks and that each brand is great. So, forget the opinions.

Failed crap:
soho SMC router
soho Dlink router
2 netgear Nics
flakey crap:
1 linksys out of 9 needs rebooted. the other 8 go months without a hitch.

Never a problem:
Netgear mr814

WRT54G owner here. absolutely love it. used to have netgear before this, and dlink before that. could never go back. netgear was prettier but was a piece of crap. only time my linksys needs rebooting is if i unplug it by mistake... otherwise it works flawlessly for months on end.

I have a WRT54G, which I flashed with a 3rd party firmware that gives more options. Since then, I have to reset the router ever week or so, because it won't let me connect to webpages sometimes. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I'm betting that it's a problem with the firmware, and not my router. On the other hand I also have a belkin router that sucks hard chunks.

i have a WRT54G as well for a pretty long while now. its served me flawlessly. never had any headaches with it, setup very quickly and easily. never had to reset or fiddle with it since. i love it, linksys rox!! i had SMC before, was also good, but router ended up crapping out before long.

I have a WRT54G, which usually crashes the internet once in a while... No worries though..

Tech support is very persistent until they accept your RMA though lol.

But the antennas for the WUSB54G's break too easily for my liking.
