I love my Linksys equipment. Never given me a problem.

Where can I get said firmware?

Because they run HOT and fail. At least my experience with them (limited). I have replaced 2/3 of them I have seen in use (friends).

I don't like my netgear rouer. Right out of the box it demands a broadband internet connection and hijacks my browsers. :|

Same here. For like 5 years. Don't need wireless in the home office so I can't find any reason to upgrade. Never the smallest problem. Solid as a rock, easy to use, more controls and features than 99.99% of home users need.

In my very limited experience, Linksys has failed every time. The switch we have at work currently operates properly about 85% of the time. The remaining time it gives a "limited or no connectivity" message, we have to hit refresh 3-7 times to get a webpage to load (if at all), and Linksys tech support says to just unplug it for 5 minutes and hope it works when you plug it back in. That crude fix only works about 1/10th of the time. Usually we just wait 2-3 days and it all suddenly works again.

When did I say i thought I was cool. I was merely pointing out that I had a feeling an incoherent, illogical rant would mostly likely be created by someone with less than 500 posts. Looks like I was right.
