No, really.

I don't use the printer for a month, now it won't print and it think's the cover is open when it's not.

It will be a cold day in hell when I buy another Lexmark product.

I owned one - never again. My sister-in-law is forever trying to get me to come fix hers. No way in hell.

I loved my Lexmark z65 - I printed that succer to death. I refilled the cartridges dozens of times. I got me through college.

I bought a 'newer' model. Took it back that week.

Screw it.

I'm getting a dot matrix printer. Those things are so much more reliable, and I only print crap for school.

Dot matrix?!!?!?!? What is this, 1989?

Pick up a cheap Brother laser printer.

I used to use the Epson 700-800-900 series and the ink would dry out before the next chance that I get to use it. Frustrating as heck.

Go buy yourself a HP Laserjet or any brand laser printer. Costs begin at $100 and is well worth it, if you think about how much those Lexmark cartridges are going for and how long they last. Laser toner will last you a year, at least.

Lexmark >>>>>>>> Brother.

HP even has bad models, but their deskjets aren't so bad. We have like 100 different printers at work. Brother, Lexmark, HP, Toshiba, Kyocera Mita, and getting more. Not a single one is perfect, although I've had less issues with the Lexmarks than any of them.

Brother HL-2070N is my favorite printer ever.

At Staples on sunday we were supposed to demo a new Lexmark printer for 4 hours (which they paid in our payroll). The damn thing didnt come in, but I had already setup everything so it all had to be taken down :( In over 4 years of working there I have MAYBE sold 5-10 lexmark printers, and those people were hell bent on buying them.

Reasons
-CRAPPY feeders (tend to pull multi sheets / sheets to one side)
-Expensive ink (have fun trying to figure out how many pages)
-Moderate yield tanks (OH YAY cheaper ink... half the ink for NOT half the price. SCAM.)

The only thing I can give them is that since the head in integrated into the tank, the overall durablity of the ink is higher than that of epson for example, BUT you must pay for this, and most likely other things will have issues. Overall decent print quality, but JUNK otherwise.

My old Z52 lasted several years & one day it just crapped the bed for no apparent reason, only paid $60 fo it though so I really can't complain ... I've had much better luck with Epson for inkjets & HP for lasers.

I haven't been overly impressed with my z35. I've had it for a couple years, and it's alright for printing a page or two on a regular basis, but the ink cartridges have clogged for me after a month or two of not being used, and it uses so much ink. I bought three new cartridges in the beginning of this semester and I've already finished the second one. :(
