I HATE JAVA!!!

Hey, everytime I go to a page that uses Java, my screen blanks completely out for a split second, then returns, but I have to mouse over everything to make it visible again! If I minimize the browser then restore it I can see everything again but this happens EVERY TIME I go to a page that uses Java. If I disable Java in my browser it does not happen, but then I get popup error messages that the page will not render correctly without it (not that it works anyway)... anybody know what's wrong?

I'm using windows xp pro, 2.66p4 1.25GB ram, and a Gefore FX 5200 Ultra w/ the latest nvidia drivers and no overclocking on anything. any thoughts?

Are you talking about Java or Javascript? Note that both have nothing to do with each other.

What browser are you using?

oh sorry I forgot that one. I use AvantBrowser which is a shell for IE. and I don't think it's javascript because if I leave javascript enabled but disable java it doesn't mess up but as soon as I enable java... poof

I had the same problem with JAVA, not Javascript. I was using the latest version of the JRE. It would only do this when I opened netbeans to actually write some Java...

I installed the 1.4.2 jre and it hasn't happened since
