so I'm playing WoW tonight, raiding AQ40, and all of a sudden one of our mages said over vent "sorry guys, I've got to go... I just found out my wife had a miscarriage." and this uncomfortable silence ensued over vent for like half an hour after he logged.

wth... is it just me or does that seem really crazy? there are just some things you don't need to share with strangers. heh. say "sorry guys, some personal issues came up, I've got to log."
 
And you're posting this on ATOT? Have you racked up over 10,000 posts without noticing ANY of the many "personal issue" threads that get posted here?

I hate them here too, but I can just scroll past it. it's another thing to actually hear someone telling a whole group of strangers about it.

wife agro is understandable... but if the person went on to explain how he had to go because his wife was threatening to divorice him over WoW. yeah.... that's a bit much 😉

I think you are being a bit mean-spirited. All you have to say is "I'm sorry to hear that". What does it cost you to offer a bit of comfort?
 
I don't hate it. In fact, I love it. It gives me ammo on the chance that the person posting such information manages to annoy me.
 
once my brother was partying with some guildies and one guy says "sorry, gotta go. think someone is breaking into the house." he disconnects and doesn't come back for half an hour. everyone was :Q for that half an hour. when he came back on they all asked him what happened. he says the guy got scared off and his wife is downstairs talking to the cops now. and continues playing with the party. lol.

i agree. my manager doesnt seem to have a problem letting people know when shes on her period, having some other ailment we didnt need to know about, or having marital problems.
 
in an online game like that i disagree... people can bring whatever they want to into the game, anonymity kicks ass
 
plus its fun to get drunk and play games like that 🙂

I remember pulling all of the spiders in velks for the frenzy group at once, or I dont remember it, but I was told that I kept training my own group for great exp, but I kept dying on the pull.
