he was probably just going to burn them in the parking lot.

I read a lot and whenever evolution is discussed, they bring up Darwin. I prefer to get my information first hand...so I figured I would give it a read.

I have wanted to read the other one for a while now but kept forgetting to buy it.

Good idea, wait until you get to the part where Darwin back-pedals.

 musta missed that part

the writing gets dry, at times, but its worth reading if youve got some time to kill.

I'll just post this for the sake of knowledge, I guess. Darwin plead to ignorance when he didn't have enough proof to support himself, which happened with some frequency.

Instead of telling you to "google it", I found this : http://www.scienceagainstevolution.org/v6i4f.htm

In particular, look at the bottom "Scorecard" part if you want cliffs. I'm not affiliated with that site, and I'm not calling anyone out. I just wanted to give some response to my previous statement.

You'd have gotten more support from me if you made the McDonalds post. That pisses me off when people do that. You also get the groups that huddle around the fountain, so they can watch the 1 person in the group fill a drink, while their fat asses block off access to the other 8 taps :^S

they are the same group of whales that walk side by side through the grocery store....slow as hell!

I don't need support from you...I switched to boxer-briefs, so I'm all set in that department.

Perhaps that's because DNA hadn't been discovered at Darwin's time? Why would you bother arguing against a 150 year old theory of Evolution with the modern version staring you directly in the face? Darwin's genius was in discovering the process of gradual change over time via natural selection, which holds up to this day. No one's saying that he was infallible. In fact, an undergraduate biology student knows more today than Darwin ever did. But using that as an argument against Evolution is as childish saying that because a child can watch an episode of Bill Nye and know more than Copernicus ever did, Heliocentric theory must be false.

Evolution isn't true because Darwin said it is. It's true because it's true.

Aaaand, here's the response I was afraid of, but was expecting. I tried to just create a backdrop for my second post, but no, someone had to take it as a challenge. It was never my intention to "argue" against an old outdated theory. I'm not even going to pick up your gauntlet, because it won't go anywhere good, I'll wager. By the last line of your post, it sounds like you picked the staus quo response and you aren't going to be reasonable, anyway.

Really, though... "It's true because it's true?" Are you joking?

Not my fault you can't be bothered to read a book. You expect me to pick apart every line of a website you just randomly picked from Google? You want to hold up that same website next to the entirety of modern Evolutionary theory and call it a wash and discuss them as if they're equally scientifically valid?

Go to TalkOrigins.org.

I admire your ability to jump to conclusions, at the very least. This will be my last post in this thread since it's already gone off-topic enough. There's a lot more than what I found in a cursory google search that offers some food for thought which makes evolutionary theory, modern or not, look like "a wash", as you put it. I "picked" that site because it broke a fair selection of points down into easily digestible parts, not that it would have mattered. I thank you for at least appending the word 'theory' after the words 'modern evolutionary'. What I type won't matter, you'll hear and read selectively if it suits you.

But to answer your last question simply, I say 'Yes'. Arguments against Evolution and its proponents, intentional or not, nearly always end up going in circles. I feel much like Brer Rabbit fighting the Tar Baby like in the old children's story. I did read a book that told me there'd be people who think like you, written long before Darwin was around. That gives me some reassurance.

I don't need a website of any kind to go prove myself at. I'll go where I please. So with that, good night and "GG", as I give up.

I really don't understand people who don't "believe" in evolution. It's just common sense. If you're better suited for your environment, you'll live longer, have more children, and pass on your genes.

That being said, people who say they "believe" in evolution and therefore can't believe in God are just as ignorant. Believing in evolution isn't a valid reason for disbelieving in God. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Well some people say that God is perfect and free of mistakes, therefore his creations should be as well, and not require any changes. Evolution is all about constantly changing to suit a hostile environment. So right there, you've got imperfect things changing to suit an imperfect environment, ie God is not perfect.
Of course, they can also turn around and say that this whole process is itself perfection.
God can't lose.

And at this point, a baboon holds up the baby Jesus to all the animals, and someone starts singing "The Circle of Logic."
