I HATE HOUSECLEANERS/MAIDS

-They don't speak english. So you can't tell them how to do things or what to do. Our last maids spoke spanish atleast, and I can communicated with them. But I'm not too sure what these guys speak...I guess that's being racist in someway. Or you guys can twist it enough to sound racist. I don't care. They keep talking and talkling. Ugh.
-They smell bad. I guess that's because of the work they do.
-They don't give a damn about anything, as long as it's clean. They wipe down my LCD monitors by taking a wet towel, throwing it on to them, and pushing hard. I wonder how they'd feel if I did that to their face. My laptops get treated like ******. And to the things ontop of my desk, they just open a drawer and slide everything into it. There are two iPods and a cell phone in that pile! Are they retarded?
-They are stupid. One of them walked into the office to vacuum it. She didn't see any open outlets (there are 4 ****** power strips in here), so she bent down and unplugged a power strip to plug the god damn vacuum in. That took out two computers, my cable modem, and my router. And she doesn't even notice. I was working on my laptop wondering why the internet died out. I came over and looked and noticed it, so I was pissed off an unplugged the vacuum and plugged the power strip back in. Then I was nice enough to plug the vacuum into the strip.
-Of course, printers mean nothing to them. They keep hitting the "Test Print" button. I guess they are ammused by the random sheets of paper comming out of the top.
-I'd be a lucky bastard if I can find anything after they leave. They put my crap in places I never even knew we had. One of my text books (upstairs on my desk), ended up in one of the drawers in the butler's pantry...
-External harddrive that is running makes no sense to them. I play all my music off an external harddrive. I don't blame them for not knowing that. But unplugging electronics that clearly have the power light on is plain stupidity.
-Computer and Xbox parts are as delicate as an elephant. That's there belief. I have motherboards and such on my work bench. Oh yea, they feel free to pick them up, and stack them in a pile. Keep in mind I've told them multiple times not to touch the work bench. I set it up the way I want it. I don't want all my ****** in a pile so it looks good. No one goes into the basement anyway.
Yea, if it was upto me I wouldn't have hired them. It's only in my Mom's hands 🙁. They mess with her stuff to, but she'd rather pay that price than clean the house up. AHHH NOW THEY ARE SINGING!!!! Do they not know that there are other people in the house who don't want to listen to that?! Get a ****** MP3 player or something. Time to turn up the music .

Thanks for listening. You'll probably tell me how ****** up I am and that I shouldn't have hired them and that they are just doing there job and I'm a loser with no life. shrug. They can do their job with some respect for other peoples stuff. And atleast attempt to learn english. This is probably the last time they are working here. Now to figure out what language they speak, and how to say 'You're fired!' in that said language...

EDIT: Wow, I curse a lot.

Couldn't you just tell them not to clean your room? I'm sure neither your mother or them would have a problem with you doing your own cleaning. Your mom might even be able to save some money and they won't be touching your things. Even better, to ensure they can't go in your room, buy a lock for your door.

It is real simple. If you don't like them messing with your stuff tell them to ignore your room and YOU can clean it the way you want it done.

Uh, hire competent maids?

I'd be pissed off at that sh!t too. You don't have to hire illegal immigrants to clean your house.

(Uhoh.. I said illegal immigrants...)

You probably also get pissed when your parents don't buy you that brand new Mustang for your 16th birthday.

You hire illegal immigrants who you can't communicate with to save a few bucks and then you complain about the work they do?

Oh wait, that's a different thread.!

This thread is about how you are a whiny little tool who assumes that people who make $5 an hour scrubbing toilets know or care what an LCD screen is and what a lit LED on an external hard drive means.

He did tell them to leave some of his stuff alone, not that it helped.

I think your points are pretty justified. If you hire someone to do a job, you expect them to do a satisfactory one. It doesn't matter how menial it is.

I think the best solution is to not have them clean your living/workspace. The time you spend cleaning it will probably be less than the time spent getting it back in order after they mess it up.

Option 1: Close/lock the door to your room so they don't clean it.

Option 2: Tell them not to touch your electronics when cleaning.

Option 3: Continue whining like a little bitch who isn't going to do anything other than complain to a bunch of people on the internet.

After consulting my crystal ball I can already tell you have selected option #3.

you really think he'll clean his own room? that's a bit beneath him.

You are assuming that the OP actually hired these people.

And that he hired people qualified for the position i.e. can clean and follow direction...

The reason they are doing what they do is because they cant handle anything more. Thats not a bad thing. The world needs ditch-diggers. Please understand that a ditch-digger is not the person to build a 5000 foot bridge.
Do you think an MIT graduate is going to settle for a maid job?

EDIT: I was the same way. I didnt like chipping paint for 12 hours a day in the Navy. So I studyied and kept out of trouble and worked hard and (eventually) they let me in the Advanced Electronics Program.
I know all about attention to detail and I can make a Ticonderoga Cruiser look pretty on the outside. But theres no real money in that and I knew I could do more. So I went through the program and a year later I was working on million dollar comm and RADAR systems.
I dont chip paint anymore, though I could if I were on hard times. But I wouldnt stick with it for long I can tell you that!

My point is that he's living with his parents and they hired the people. He's just acting spoiled.

OP - Move out and you won't have to worry about people touching your stuff.
