Eh, I don't. I've received a few emails at work from people in this group fighting for this stuff. Including a link to the blog. And they didn't really "win" much, just that the school can't cut down the trees until their permits are reviewed.
I think anyway. I don't have video at work so I didn't watch the videos in the latest entry.

Good on them. And I'm somewhat of a hippie (mentally) and actually like hippie people. They're pretty cool people.
Yes, there are varying degrees of hippiness. Extremists are always the ones that garner the most attention, as it is with most things. You don't hear much about moderates who are against abortion, because they're not newsworthy. They won't get viewers or readers. It's only the psycho-extremist ones, who are willing to kill people and blow up buildings, that make it onto the news.Originally posted by: Dirigible
Reminds me of the wackos who have been sitting in trees on the UC Berkeley campus for months and months trying to stop some new buildings from going up. I consider them annoying irrational extremists wasting time and resources, doing more harm than good.
But I don't hate hippies. That's too nebulous a word, and one that may well encompass me under some of its definitions. I prefer to focus my hate on individuals rather than groups.![]()

I'll never understand how people can hate hippies. Thinking they are silly, foolish, naive, etc. makes some sense, but getting that spun up over a bunch of treehuggers just seems like a waste of energy.

If you want the hippies to stop protesting, just throw them a bunch of joints, a few guitars and a few munchies. The hippies will be so busy that they will not have time to protest anything.
Watch out for the ones that want to hold a music festival in your town to fight the power. If too many ofthem gather in one place just pop a Slayer CD in the stereo and the hippes will flee. Hippies hate Slayer.
