Cue Kefka mode.

It does not register with me. AvantBrowser is an IE skin I use & love and the most recent version switched terms from 'Favorites' to 'Bookmarks'. I still look for the Favorites button and now the button says Bookmarks. Plus the right-click menu says "Add To Bookmarks" now and that takes quite a while to register with my mind. Bookmarks sounds like something you'd find on a Mac. Blechhh! isgust;

Bookmarks with Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer installed. OMFG, I love it. Not only does it sync between my machines, but if I reformat, all my stuff is still there. Absolutely wonderful.

Well, since the internet is a static, non-changing item (like a book) and since the only reason to use the internet is to read (like a book) shouldn't we call them bookmarks?

They were called bookmarks long before they were called favorites. It's kind of sad that you take a while to comprehend bookmarks. The opposite is true for me. Favorites still takes me a bit even after all these years, because it started off as bookmarks and always will be bookmarks. FF got it right.

a lot of the sites i have bookmarked are not my favorite sites. i've got them for work purposes. calling them favorites is stupid.

also, calling hyperlinks 'shortcuts' is stupid too.

both were introduced in internet explorer, which i have pretty much never used. IE can die in a fire for all i care.

I also use Foxmarks.

Before Foxmarks, I had like 10 pages bookmarked.

Now with Foxmarks I probably have a good 300 pages bookmarked
