I used to like it better back in Season 1/2. More focus on patients...less on drama. I work in a teaching/research hospital and if our surgical interns were doing half that sh*t they'd be run outta the hospital.
What is more annoying to me is now the two patients they pick ALWAYS have some sort of crazy thing wrong that requires a once in a lifetime surgery. Now I work in a busy hospital and ER and even in the ER I dont see half the ****** they see on that show. Also it gives people such a false reality. Surgical residents/interns have NO time for anything besides surgery, consults, rounding etc.
That being said I like House much more as it is much more medically correct even if it is guilty of doing the this person has some inane diagnosis. Or I'm sitting there and I've figured out the disease before they do because they'll purposively not do a certain lab test or radiological study. This last week's episode I called the meningioma before they did
ER actually despite it's age is a GREAT show still. Very medically accurate for the most part and shows some of the mistakes that interns and residents can and DO make.
