I don't hate football, I just don't care.
Now I do actively hate fantasy football.....

I really don't give much notice to pro sports as a whole. I do watch/listen to baseball occasionally and try to get out to a game a couple times a year though I do not take it all that seriously.

Hardly, I was all state wrestler. Ran cross country, track, played baseball, rode motocross and liked to fish and blow stuff up.

I just cant get into 400lb steroid enhanced grunts slamming into each other and people dribbling about stats all the damn time.

I also cant stand people saying "i would have done x" or "omg how did he miss that"

If you can do better then join the NFL until then shut up.

Oh, BTW I think actually DOING the sports is more manly than sitting on your ass watching them and commenting on what you would have done different

I'l give you credit for baseball but the man on man action of wrestling is not my thing.

And you can't stand people who have opinions? Hmmm you must be a pretty angry person around here then eh? And by your same reasoning if I don't play in the NFL Im not entitled to an opinion of a particular play or call? And your a member of anandtech? C'mon you know that is crazy.

Of course playing the sport is more fun but finding that many guys to play with and not getting sued b/c you knocked someone to next week is pretty hard nowadays.

An opinion is fine, but people trying to say how they would have done it is just bs.

Also, wrestling is the most manly sport in the world, no team to help you out. Its just you and your opponent for 9 minutes of the hardest workout you will ever experience. And the "man on man" comment is so overused. Wrestlers unlike football players DONT smack each other on the ass

1. They are boring
2. Too much doping going on
3. Sports "stars" are mostly egotistical pricks
4. I dont get wood over the stats of a game

Some people take the couch coaching a bit too far but most team sports involve quite a bit of emotion so that feeds into their opinions.

Wrestling is just not my thing, it may be a rush but the intimate closeness is just too much for me. Plus Id rather have a smack on the ass then some guy grabbing all over me and eventually you'll end up at some point with balls in your face. And without the team aspect there your not getting the same sense of accomplishment as you would if you played say football. Its still there of course just more of a "look what I did on my own yay me!" and not the "look what we have done together as individuals operating as a unit".

Not to mention everytime I think "wrestling" in a proffessional sense WWF always comes to mind. That isn't correct obviously but thats the first mental image I get.

well, since you put it that way, I can completely see why you want to stick with your baking/cooking shows instead. good luck!

I dont watch TV other than South Park and the Daily show on occasion. Its too full of commercials and shitty acting. I like bad horror movies :)

No not really, just pointing out how hippocritical it is. A good thread is one that is interesting enough comment on. You dont vote things down just because you disagree

i don't know that it would be a deal breaker, i just said it would seem weird. i was brought up around A LOT of sports and every guy i know has some sports interests so that's why it would seem weird.

I don't follow any sports. They just don't interest me enough. I do wish that the whole guy and sports thing wasn't such a big stereotype though. I have found that at several past jobs, most of the guys always assume that I love sports and I follow them especially since I went to a college with a good football team. Those same guys will often think that a guy who doesn't enjoy sports like they do is kind of weird and separates them from the "social circle" at the office. Maybe I just had some bad luck with that kind of thing, but it really is annoying. Thankfully, that isn't a problem at my current job because there are so many people that work here with different interests.

I'd rather play than watch myself. Except for football, because I don't like getting hit. I can watch Olympics, though. You'd have to pay me to watch people swim or row boats or whatever at any other time, but during the Olympics I can't get enough of this stuff.
