I hate flourescent lights!

Am I the only one?
The only lights we have in the office here are flourescent, and they drive me nuts...give me a headache. I have the window shades open and the lights off, which means it's pretty dark in here. People are always like "what are you, goth?". grr.

I hate it when a ballast goes and the freaking thing is flickering like mad, and it just really pisses me off.:|

Yeah, you need some nice 32watt T8 bulbs (same length as the standard 40watt T12 bulbs) with an electronic ballast. These ballasts run the tubes at a much higher frequency, so they don't flicker, and electronic ballasts are (almost?) always noise rated A, which means they are very quiet.

I just shut mine off and brought in a small lamp for my desk. I get the same questions though because it's still pretty dark in here.

That's probably what I'm going to have to do. They're too cheap to buy good flourescent lights.

I dunno wtf i got but it was $16cnd a bulb and it uses 25watts and puts out the light of 125watt blub

I got it @ wal-mart

You got one of those fluorescent bulbs with a miniature ballast in the base. Yeah, they're nice, but they're not dimmable (I don't care, but some might), and they aren't quite as bright as the incandescent bulbs they're rated against. I got a "60 watt equivalent" one and it surely isn't quite as bright as the 60 watt incandescent bulb that was in there before.

I hate flourescent lights that are about to blow out. They flicker and they make a really annoying noise.
