These people are soooo lazy. I ordered a P4 1.8A from Newegg Tuesday evening. Fedex 3 day supersaver shipping. They picked up my order at 9am on Wednesday. Wednesday, Thur, Fri = 3 days. 99.9999% of companies in my experience will count the pickup day as long as the package is picked up before noon. However, this is only part of my complaint.

You see, the package at this moment is sitting just 15 freakin miles from my house. It has been there since 7:45 this morning. Since the package is so close, will they throw it on a truck and deliver it? Hell no, Not fedex. In the comments section, it says.. "Package not due for delivery"... so, they are not counting Wednesday even though they had the package all day. Three day shipping my arse. I call it Fraud and / or false advertising.

What really makes me mad is that it seems they hold a package (even though they could easily deliver it) based on when they think the 3 days are up. UPS always delivers the package to me the day it reaches it's final sorting location.

I will have the rest of the peices to my new system ready to go this weekend, but not the P4.

I have no problem with FedEx. I order tons of crap from NewEgg and it always gets here two days after it gets picked up. You do realize that with the Supersaver Shipping the priority of your package is pretty much nothing, right?

Call the local distribution center and speak with a supervisor. Be polite and (at the very least) you should be able to pick up your package. I actually got them to deliver a missed overnight delivery on a Saturday afternoon. You can tell them it's a part for a medical device and they'll really move on it! :)

Cheers!

I would have bumped it up, but newegg was giving free shipping... I assumed Newegg would ship it the next morning, and they did. I was counting 3 days for their supersaver shipping, and figured it would be here Friday, so why pay an extra $13 to get it Thusday when I wasn't getting the rest of the stuff until Sat.

The package should have a priority high enough to get it where it needs to go in the time they tell you... ie 3 days. It will be four days in my case. They just choose not to count a full day in which the package was clearly in their possession.

That's one of my big beefs with them too. Even though when you pay for Super Saver shipping your priority for delivery will naturally be lower than overnight and two-day delivery it's still ridiculous when they just sit on it for several days simply because you didn't pay more. I realize if I REALLY need something I just pay extra and have it shipped overnight. But it's still frustrating. I've had packages shipped Super Saver that arrived in my city with the same speed as overnight. Then they'll just sit there for the next few days (sometimes over weekends like you're experiencing) instead of delivering it. You can't tell me there isn't some free space on the delivery trucks for residential routes on some of those days. FedEx doesn't exactly tear it up in terms of market share in the residential market. It wouldn't be so frustrating except for the fact that they're the only ones who do that. I've had UPS ground packages sometimes get lucky and arrive overnight too. Yet I'll get those then next morning. That's one of the main reasons why I've mostly been choosing UPS whenever it's an option lately.

Exactly. Also, if it were only a couple more dollars to bump the shipping I would have, but like I said.. Newegg was offering free basic shipping on it, so an upgrade to a day which I did not think was needed would have cost me $13 I think.

You are right about UPS. It is 3-5 day shipping, but if it is in the area, they deliver it. Buy.com has a warehouse in Pa (I am in Woodbridge, Va), and when I order from them using UPS ground on say a Sunday night, I have the package Tuesday. Using Fed-Ex's system, it would arrive on Thursday.

Lol i've never had a problem with them, actually ive had GREAT service with FedEx.

I live in Nashville and i'm so close to the Hub in Memphis that i get FedEx Savers from newegg usually overnight but sometimes in 2 days. I ordered crucial ram on Tuesday....Wed morning rolled around and FedEx was at my house with 512MB of DDR ram! I guess it's just where i live, but i get killer service with FedEx. No matter how you send, i get it in 1-2 days! Woot

I called 1-800-GO-FEDEX, and got the information (address etc) for picking the package up. They are open until 8 tonight and 9-5 on Satuday so that is what I plan to do. It's only 20 miles away.

Frustrating isn't it. It's like they don't want to make the smallest extra effort for the customer. It makes them look bad when they sit on a package for a day (or more in some cases) simply to force the customer to wait the full 3 days.

I have only ever used FedEx 2 times (2 Newegg orders), and this has happened both times... and they expect that when given a choice in the future that I will choose FedEx? Not likely. You have to earn repeat business, and FedEx will only get mine when I have no other choice.

I don't think it is too much to ask for a company to deliver a package that is at it's final destination no matter how early it got there. I expected something similar to my UPS experiences. They don't sit on it for a day or more for no reason just because I purchased ground shipping as opposed to 2nd day or overnight.

It is right there in the final warehouse on the trip... throwing it on a truck and delivering it shouldn't be too much to ask. They should especially consider this on a Friday when the customer would have to wait until Monday to have it delivered. Hell, I bet they will run a truck right past my house today. It would have taken them 25 seconds to drop it off.

I guess finding a company willing to go the extra mile (or baby step in this case) is hard to do anymore.

You guys are WAY too hard on Fedex, you dont' understand everything that goes on.

First off, understand that 18 hours a day Fedex loads boxes and unloads boxes on those trucks, every person working unloads 1200 boxes an hour, with at least 20 people working at any one time. That means that every day, 1200 boxes x 20 people x 18 hours a day 432,000 boxes run through the the hub I work at (hartford CT) and we are a SMALL hub. There are something like 30ish hubs in the US!!! Thats 12960000 boxes PER DAY!!! Thats a lot to ask for any company!

Secondly, there is a REASON that you can buy different package priorities!!! We are ALWAYS BUSY, so YES, IT IS A HASSLE FOR US TO DELIVER A PACKAGE BEFORE WE NEED TO, the trucks only hold so many damn boxes, and even if you are right close by, you are still taking up space needed for higher priority packages or packages that are scheduled to be delivered befor eyours! Every single fricking truck that leaves Fedex buildings is FILLED no doubt about it so there really is NO EXTRA SPACE for your boxes!

BUT in any case, if you're package arrives late, you can usually get your money back if you call and whine about it, so try that in any case. Although you got free shipping... so I don't know what they'll do.

In any case, Fedex is really better suited for business stuff anyway, we get many many more large boxes than small stuff and most businesses that ship with Fedex ship with higher priorities than the crappy 3 day supersaver, if you want your package faster, pay the extra $$$.

Considering UPS's ground shipping uses a day-definite guaranteed delivery.. er guarantee, they're fulfilling the service you paid for, no less and no more. You're getting the same service from FedEx when you paid for 3-day delivery -- no less and no more. Now if the box didn't show up in 3 days, then you have a legitimate gripe but this FedEx "I want 2-day or 1-day service when I paid for 3-days" complaint has been rehashed time and time again.

Why are you griping?

You paid for 3-day FedEx Saver, not Overnight or 2-Day. So why the hell should you receive it in 2 days when there are umpteen zillion people who paid for faster delivery with packages to be delivered? Think about it. If you wanted / needed the stuff faster, you should have spent the extra few bucks for a faster delivery option.

I'm so tired of hearing people whine about this. You want it faster, pay for it -- like anything else.

I guess I am spolied by the faster service of UPS. Like I said before, if my package arrives in the final UPS destination, they deliver it that day. Even if I buy 3-5 day ground, and delivering it early means I will essentially have overnight or 2nd day shipping. They don't hold onto packages like FedEx does.

Superwormy. I understand that you do handle a lot of packages, but so does UPS. It would appear to me that they (FedEx) can't keep up or is maxing out what they can do if they can't deliver what is in the warehouse ready for delivery. Maybe they need to hire another driver or two, I don't know. UPS can do it why not FedEx?

I too have never had a problem with FedEX. Packages always arrive when I expect them and the delivery guy is cool as hell. I've probably ordered at least $5000 worth of parts from newegg in the past 2 years and never had a problem. Maybe its just the area you live in :p (i'm in austin btw)

in my area, it's the other way around.. ups held up a few packages before, never with fedex.. plus fedex delivers in the daytime consistently (all my packages that were thru fedex arrived in a pretty close timeframe) while ups on the other hand, varies alot.. from mid-afternoon, to almost the end of day, which is 7pm..

All Fedex does is haul dope around. I mean they have so many trucks around where I live and on the interstate. All they can be doing is hauling dope.
