I hate fedex

i ordered a macbook from apple and as far as i know i only saw a fedex option on there, i think it was 3-5 business days shipping and it seems like fedex likes to take their sweet ass time with packages.

i ordered the macbook last thursday and up until it showed no sign of being shipped from california, so i have been calling the past few days and ive heard excuse after excuse and i was even told the package is going to be late by one day and they tried to blame it on apple, even though the website sais that they had the package in their possession on the 10th.

long story short after bitching at them and calling 4 times it seems like i will have the package tomorrow which is the scheduled date even though they still took their sweet time with it.

Funny part is i ordered memory for the laptop from newegg on monday night, the 14th and i will have my memory tomorrow the 17th via UPS.

UPS has never given me a problem , packages are never damaged like some people have complained and they always ship as soon as possible unlike fedex who waits last minute and even delivers late.

give me a choice and i will be UPS everytime

Some friendly advice for the people on the board, if your only choice is fedex, just pay a little extra for overnight shipping so u can receive your package in 3 to 5 days like you're suppose to.

*shrug*

seems like all delivery problems are local to an area, and not indicative of an operation as a whole.

when i was ordering things from newegg on a regular basis and they were using fedex, i got everything on time, and the local delivery guy called me if i wasnt home and offered to drop my package off at work on more than one occasion

likewise, ive never had a problem getting USPS priority stuff on time. and only once has UPS been noticeably late delivering a package i was expecting

Fedex ain't that bad- it's Fedex Home that sucks. Two different companies.

I've always had the exact opposite experience, in every place I've lived. It seems like one company is always sucky no matter where you live. :(

cant say anything bad about ANY shipping company...even usps. in fact, i just bought a evga 7950GT 512MB from a guy here on at fs/ft, and he shipped it via usps priority mail and it got here earlier today!

ups, usps, fedex, dhl = no problems for me. must be that i live in a decent area (oak brook, IL).

I have never had any issues with any shipping company and I have used them all so I guess these incidents are rather isolated.

I've received hundreds of packages from UPS this past year, I don't think a single one has arrived before the scheduled delivery date (and plenty have been delivered late, including an overnight shipment that they put on the wrong plane which cost me a few hundred bucks). On the other hand, I've only had a handful of packages from Fedex and have had more than a few arrive earlier than expected.

And don't get me started on USPS, their delivery confirmation system is horrible and I would never ship with them by choice.

What is the problem here? You are getting it on time, as promised, yet you are bitching?

Next time dont be so cheap and go for the overnight service if you NEED Your MACBOOK that badly. Jeez, get a life!

If I had the time I could relay some horrific UPS stories, much much worse than your puny rant....UPS is the most worthless delivery company around .

Your problem with FedEx probably has a lot more to do with the FedEx employees working in your area than it does the company itself. It's the same with UPS. I tend to have and hear about many more issues with UPS than FedEx though. I think on average FedEx hires more quality staff than UPS. Regardless, always use the one which serves better in your area if you are given a choice.

the problem is if i hadent bitched at them it wouldnt have been here on time. I know you're not very bright but try to read this over and over again and hopefully you get it.

p.s i think tis funny that you're telling me to get a life when u have nothing better to do then personally attack someone over something that has nothing to do with u

So you're going to get your package on the scheduled delivery date, and you're complaining?

Only company I've had problems with is DHL. 3/4 times I've used them. Pretty bad track record.

FedEx dropped the first computer purchase I ever bought as a 16 year old. :( They dropped a 19" Sony CRT and cracked the monitor casing... :( Good thing it was insured.

This is why having the ability to track packages is a blessing and a curse at the time same. FedEx didn't update the tracking status for your package and you jumped into overdrive and started hounding some poor soul over the phone. It sounds like the package will be delivered on time.
