i thought all manufacturers install a generic facebook app? the real one from the market is better though. and on HTC part of the set up is to link it to facebook

Yeah, I had to install the Facebook app on my AT&T GS2 also.

For the OP: It's not Facebook, unless your wife didn't install the genuine Facebook app, and instead installed some russian hacker app that stole everything off your phone.

Install and run Airpush Detector, like everybody keeps telling you to.

my htc inspire had a bunch of these apps. never updated either. i had install the generic apps
