That sounds about right. One of our janitors thought he'd made friends with a chimp since he would feed him every day and the chimp seemed very docile. One day, for no apparent reason, the chimp grabbed his arm when he was putting food in the cage and bit off three of his fingers. Random violence is not a trait I look for in a pet.Originally posted by: gistech1978

Trust me, you don't want a chimp. They're all cute when they're little but they're mean as hell when they're older and strong enough to seriously f*ck you up.Originally posted by: americangigolo
dude i wish i had a pet chimp, that would be awesome. he could hang around my neck and whatnot.
my pysch teacher in college told us the same thing
he used to do research on a "chimp island" on some lake, it was like a refuge for chimps or something
anyways he said he had to punch one of them in the face cuz the chimp charged @ him. he had to show the chimp who the alpha male was i guess.
he was a big guy, but he said he was scared for his life and rightfully so, that chimp wouldve ripped his arms off.

Squirrel monkeys, on the other hand, are actually really cute and friendly for the most part.
