I hate Egay newbies that start bidding with 6 days left!

I am sick of seeing newbies bidding on items way before the auction ends. Are they stupid or something? Don't they realize that the winner is going to be someone that bids at the last minute? SO why do they insist on raising the price so early? I hate them!!!! OMG i wanna kill them all!!!1

I've been on Egay for years and do it. It makes people like you not bother looking back at the item some times. Then I get it for cheap.

also realize that some people will just bid on the item to "bookmark" it. that's what i'd do. then closer to the auction deadline someone will bid higher than me, and i'll get an e-mail reminding me that i'm bidding on something.

That's true, but I've heard stories about random snipers who like to play chicken by bidding up items where they suspect a proxy bid has been set. In those cases, doing sniping of your own as late in the game as possible (within the constraints of your budget, obviously) prevents the item from being a "target".

I used to feel the same way you do but now that I bid on more things and am a lot more busy I just dont' have the time to remember all of the auctions I'm bidding on and what time they end so I end up bidding early and just leaving it there and if I win...cool..if not...I wasn't willing to pay that much anyway!

Rgr, those of us who *sell* stuff on ebay as well as buy stuff greatly appreciate the people who bid early It helps ensure that we sell it for a fair price, and the buyer gets it for a fair price.

btw, who in their right mind pays $200 for a stupid basket. I thought my wife was an idiot paying $20 for a basket 10 years ago, but now those types of baskets are selling for $200!

If it were so stupid to bid so early, people wouldn't put their stuff up for 6 days. Just because you are a sniper and try to cheat doesn't mean that everyone does it. Some people want a fair price and aren't out to screw others.

there were multiple competitors, but none of them lasted.

Yahoo auctions, bidbay, ubid, etc.
