<< Since when has anyone died from a laced weed bag? cmon! I mean, I've (accidentally) smoked an opium laced bag once, and that didnt kill me. >>

Was it worth it?

I might have missed it, but I don't think he even told us what this girl was doing. For we know she's just tripping and not doing herself any harm. It's pretty much impossible to be addicted to psychedelics. Pot, e, heroin, coke, and all that, though... that would be bad news, then you would have reason to be worried.

Alright, fine, it was just opium this time. What about next time when it's rat poison? Is it really worth the risk?

Well considering when I smoked (quit two weeks ago) I only got it from the source, there wasnt much risk. (the opium thing was when I was 15). Besides, I dont know too many dealers who lace their drugs with fatal poisen, it doesnt help customer retention.

That's a pretty dumb question. Millions die in cars and I think it's worth it to drive even when I don't have to (ie, not going to work or the store for a necessity).

Makes you think about whether or not it should be illegal. People do it, you can't debate that obviously. So why not help them out and regulate it so the next time you know its not going to be rat poison?

Heck yeah, I love cars. This is apples and oranges though. What does pot do for you, exactly? I see nothing terribly beneficial to it, however, I can hop in my car and make it downtown in about 2 minutes whereas if I were to walk it, I might be there in 3 hours.

well if you use that argument there is nothing terribly beneficial about alchohol or tobacco either, but they kill umpteen more people than pot each year.

For the record, I hate tobacco. I've never smoked and I never will. It's disgusting and it offends the people around you with the stench. Alcohol is a little different. I don't mind it in moderation, however when people are getting trashed each and every night, that's a problem and that should be stopped. Granted, if you drink 20 shots of whiskey in a row, you're in some trouble, but that's your own fault for being stupid. Same with pot.

<< << like i said before...i just use that as a sig...i don't DO any ILLEGAL drugs...been clean for 7 years now...if you guys want to send me a drug test...i will take it and prove it to you =) >> >>

<< Ok, so you don't do drugs... but you insist on using that sig. Hmm, so you advertise it.. like it's just the greatest thing since sliced bread >>

This is what I was getting at.............."DRY DRUNK"!

I did a Hell of a lot of illegal substance abuse when I was in high school. I stopped and cleaned up. I'm not "ashamed" of what I did, nor do I deny what I did. I don't however look back at those days, smile and think of them as my "glory days". If I did, then I would still be on a dry drunk and not a recovered addict. Nor do I get on a soap box and preach about how bad of a person is for doing illegal drugs. Nor will I be a hypocrite if and when my sons come home high.

I had a friend of mine that was a serious drug addict and alcoholic until he put a bullet in his head from Russian Roulette and then got help. He got rid of the physical addiction to drugs and alcohol. After that, he thought he had to go to the bars with us to be a designated driver. He had to go to a bar frequently and drink a soda. He did this for 3-4 years. He got rid of his physical addiction, but clutched to his mental addiction. He's now a counselor for troubled kids with substance abuse problems. After 3-4 years of the mental addiction to drugs and alcohol, he came to me and said that he never realized that he was still an addict. He lost the physical addiction and not the mental addiction. He explained that this is a dry drunk condition. He worked on losing the mental addiction and no longer refers to those days of doing drugs as his glory days. It's his personal belief now that he is not a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, he is a RECOVERED alcoholic and drug abuser. He shed both his phyical and mental addictions!

<< thanks chief, yeah bud and cigs are considered gateway drugs...they can lead on to worse things thats what happened to me... >>

That is YOUR fault. It is the person, not the substance.
That's like blaming your car for you getting into an accident.

Give me a break... this guy needs a clue..
>>

dude..that sounds like a gun control debate... it's not the drug that kills..it's the person who's using it....

I value my personal enjoyment very much. When I smoke dope, I generally have a great time or feel good while I'm high. I feel this way at other times, as well, not just when I'm smoking. It makes me feel more relaxed and I can think a little bit more outside of what I normally think. There are times it sucks, but when you get into a wreck, that sucks as well.

Basically, its something I do for fun. I don't do it all the time, but I do frequently use dope and enjoy it.

You may not see that as the same value as getting downtown in 2 minutes, but I do. Guess that is just a difference of opinion.

At least this thread is pretty calm and not full of the usual dirt and insults being thrown back and forth.

Cigarettes are definatly a gateway drug. Ask someone who smokes weed if they smoked cigarettes before they smoked weed. They will say yes just like a coke head will say he smoked weed before doing coke.

<< Since when has anyone died from a laced weed bag? cmon! I mean, I've (accidentally) smoked an opium laced bag once, and that didnt kill me. >>

people have died from laced bags. sometimes, people who don't know what they are doing mix the wrong things, or what you take with the laced bag causes a bad reaction.

actually I smoked weed first😛

That's the funniest thing I've read yet today.

Whys that so funny DARE people always say weed is a gateway drug but they never say that before people smoke weed they usually do the legal drugs.

<< cigarettes are NOT a gateway drug. WTF did you do to make you believe that? >>

Cigarettes are a gateway drug in the same manner that marijuana is a gateway drug. The only reason why the theory exists is because the majority of people who do hard drugs have tried or still do marijuana. By this same logic, alcohol and tobacco are even stronger gateway drugs, because practically EVERYONE who does drugs has tried or still does those drugs. Of course, the logic falls apart when you realize that a large amount of people manage to enoy tobacco, alcohol, or pot without going on to harder drugs

<< Did u drink alcohol before you smoked weed? >>

not in copious amounts (just a glass of wine for the jewish holidays)

*note* I'm not a pothead, I've only smoked up a few times.

also, I've only been drunk a few times.

the weed just happened first.

and no I don't smoke cigarettes at all

cm'on all you people, stop getting on his back for pot being a drug. yes, pot is a drug but so is caffiene for that matter. The issue here is drugs that will ruin your life. Neither pot nor caffeine will ruin your life.

<< That's the funniest thing I've read yet today. >>

No way! Tantos' rant to FFMCobalt was much funnier. 😉

<< Neither pot nor caffeine will ruin your life. >>

I remember a coworker of mine, with 27 years seniority at the job, was fired when he tested positive for weed. He cut himself so they sent him to the medcenter. I guess it's a mandatory thing...get hurt on the job - get tested for drugs. Some legal thing I think. Anyways, I think in a round about way, pot can and does ruin your life.

Have a fewFORMER friends who became involved with cocaine and crack. Well these people are human wrecks now and are byond hope. There whole life revolves around using, possessing and aquiring crack/cocaine. They are lost..and the odd thing about it is they know it. They've lost so much time in their lives, they no longer see them selves as worth saving.
