Seriously, if I was a customer, I would not hang up and just marinate in the awkwardness.

Better Scenario: ...."Well thanks for NOTHING asshole!!!!" *moment of silence* "sooooo...... you're willing to help me fix it that?"

I had a user like that once... called in for support because his computer wouldn't boot. Took a few minutes and we determined it was his HOME pc that wasn't working... not his work laptop. Told him he would need to contact whatever company he bought his computer from. He ended the call "Thanks for fucking nothing. useless." but.. he didn't hang up. So my response was . "You're very welcome sir... and if you ever have any issues with your work equipment, you can always call us and ask for help with that, as we did supply you with that equipment"

he was like "uh. ok. thanks" .. then hung up
