I hate dongles

dammit i hate them... almost cracked my ethernet card and laptop in half today when someone walking by snagged it.

That's why Xircom's RealPort cards kick @ss

The Xircom's do kick ass, but they take up 2 slots. Dongled cards only take one slot, but they do break too often.

There are ethernet cards that are available that take 1 slot but has a bulge on the end where the plug plugs in.

I forgot who makes it though..

Maybe linksys or somebody.. let me find it for you.

I haven't had any problems with my dongle so far....even though its an extra accessory, I deal with it

I smashed a dongle when I poicked up my laptop by one edge... it tipped on the other edge and the dongle died....

Well, fragile as they may be, dongles are infinitely more convenient than big fat sockets and adapters.

when i had my linksys one it always broke on the edges and wouldn't stay connected. *curses* so i got the 3-com non-dongle one...expensive though. =\
