...the TV show on Fox, not necessarily the actual agents of law enforcement.

This show sensationalizes some of the darkest parts of humanity. I suppose they think that the show functions as a deterrent, illustrating the consequences of negative behavior...but I have difficulty seeing it that way.

Police officers on this show appear pretentious and arrogant rather than impartial and judicious.

I kind of like Cops. It reminds me of just how well off I am. It makes me realize that life could be so much more worse.
 
I was going to come into this thread and flame you for disrespecting the officers that protect us...

But since it's the TV show... Good on ya!! 😀
 
I hate the show too.

I remember someone's thoughts on it that I feel are very true. This isn't a direct quote, but it'll give a jist of what they said. The show makes everyone look bad, both the cops and the other people (criminals if you will). The original was said with more eloquence.

i recall seeing a clip where there were like 3 cops in cars chasing a guy on a moped and they somehow managed to lose the guy. They had to go back to where he lived and found him there. The guy on the moped wasn't exactly exhibiting much skill at evasion either.
