So my internet service has been acting up. Comcast Tech comes in and does absolutely nothing. I get another guy to come in and he does absolutely nothing as well and also charges me 50 bucks. WTF.

Anyways, Comcast sucks.

Anyone know of another good CABLE isp that operates in TX? Specifically in the Plano-DFW area. Thanks

But its Comcastic.

yeh I'll explain when I got time, but in the meanwhile anyone know of any alternative Cable ISP operating in the DFW TX area??

This happened all the time before Katrina at my house. My connection dropped at random and would stay down for about an hour everyday. The comcast tech came several times and said that the problem was not on comcast's end. This went on for about 4 months. Katrina came and destroyed all the Comcast lines. Comcast had to run all new lines to my area and guess what......

No service interruption since Katrina. Although they did take their precious time restoring it after the storm, a month and a half without cable is mad..... But, not as bad as the 3 weeks without power.

 Comcast
never any problems

Can't say I didn't have any problems, but they have taken very good care of me. My German Shephard dug up the line and bit a hole in the cable one time. It rained the next couple of days and water got into the line. Comcast came out and replaced the whole line from my house to the box for free, even though it was my fault.

I'm also in the DFW area, and really wish I could get the FO Verizon offers. See if it's available in your area OP. If you are in an SBC area like me, wait until ATT releases LightSpeed.

I did have a bit of a probem reading this at first, but I figured it out. It wasn't as hard as I thought when I first glanced at it.

Lucky you.

We have a choice here where I live, between Comcast and Millennium Digital, I had millennium for almost 16 years through various buyouts they had.. and I switched to comcast a few years ago.. the difference was like night and day.. millennium had no tech support except monday-friday 8-5. After hours you called and got an on-call person paged to call you back. (I don't been computer troubleshooting, I mean troubleshooting modem not locking type calls)

My comcast service has been pretty reliable, with the exception of the few times someone down the road dug and cut our cable service..

The biggest reason I switched was due to Millennium capping bandwidth at 768k during peak usage, and not telling anyone until after they started complaining. If you complained enough you got your own special modem config file 1IP_COMPLAINER needless to say once people realized how to look at their config files, they raised hell 🙂
