Dammmm, You seem to always have your panties in a bunch whenever I make a post. Are you sad I make more than you?????

 Yes, I'm jealous that you're a whiny bitch that posts to whine about everything or brag about your income.

Too funny. I don't complain about money like you nor insecure about what others think. I suggest using some of that rental income to see a shrink. Maybe, you'd be a happier person.

I'm going to have a Happy Christmas. Feel bad for your kids and family that they have to deal with you.

i feel people here (us) have lost what christmas was. Generally it was a time where family spent time with each other and reflected on their love. It wasn't about ipods, xbox, playstations, etc. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

For the middle period of my life I was probably half way to where you are. Now that I have kids and a wife who goes nuts on xmas for the kids I can appreciate it save for the bills after :)

Go to a childrens hospital on chirstmas and remind yourself what the chirstmas spirit is all about. Buy some gifts and go meet some kids who feel it.

Strip it down to what its really about. Spending time with family and enjoying giving

We're all young adults and older adults in my family. I want to opt out of all the gifting and just have a nice christmas dinner but everyone is STILL trying to one-up each other in the gift giving. Dat keeping up with the Jones', its insane.

I'm all for the bolded. My sister has a young kid and he loved opening his toys and putting them together. Totally worth it. He was jumping up and down he was so happy. Adults shouldn't get each other gifts, though. Two-way gift giving is awkward unlike birthdays.

Some of you guys live sad, sad lives.

Though you got one thing right. Christmas is indeed NOT about the presents.

Best Christmas?
Suggestions?

Go to midnight Mass, even if you're not Catholic.
Take a quiet walk outside after midnight, especially if it has snowed.
Drive around to see the Christmas lights.
Load up on plenty of munchies, and have your own little Christmas Eve Twilight Zone marathon. You'll need Netflix, or some Twilight Zone DVD's.
Visit any and every relative you might have in a nursing home.

But if you have kids, just stick with that old fashion typical Christmas for profit thing.
And a note... Most Walgreen's are open 24/7 for those that procrastinate.
Nothing like a plastic light-up snowman. And don't forget those batteries.

How about just the Christmas tree? Or maybe only wreaths or perhaps Christmas lights. If there was little or no $ baloney associated with Christmas would you like Christmas trees or your favorite Xmas-time decorations?

What I'm suggesting is could you enjoy a Christmas tree, lights or wreaths etc without any gifts other than Christmas cards for each other in the family? Or maybe you have put up some decorations. If you have then never mind, it shows that with or without gifts you'd be celebrating Christmas which would be cool I think.

Edit - it may be a challenge to have a fully decorated Xmas tree for little money. Same for some wreaths. So the cost could put decorations into the $ baloney category unless people can find cheap ways to decorate.

Honestly, I hate Christmas. It's just a bunch of Bullshit present buying and spending money on other people. Never really cared for the Holiday.
Don't feel bad about it, lots of other people hate it too. There are songs about it, in fact there are songs named "I Hate Christmas." The group Fear has a song named Fuck Christmas: Fuck Christmas

Christmas is better if you don't get sucked into the commercialization.

It's not only about celebrating the birth of Jesus our savior but it's also about spending time with family. The presents are just secondary. As a kid I was really excited about it but now that I'm an adult and just buy my own stuff whenever I want it, I don't really care that much for presents. I don't even ask for anything.

That's about how I am. I buy my own stuff and the things I do want no one can afford it. LOL

:D Again, I'm not the one that complains about money in these threads or needs to brag about it. Oh, shouldn't you go back to your Urban Dictionary thread and respond to everyone laughing at you for being an dumbass.

Sucks to be you. Make sure your kids have a Merry Christmas at least and you could even teach them it's not about the presents, you could go and take them out.

It's even funnier how you hate Christmas b/c of commercialization but you post here about trying to keep up with the Jones and need to make more money and feel insecure about not driving a nice car, etc...

If you made real money, those things wouldn't even be an issue. You're a wanna be baller without the balls. :D

It annoys me too. Everything is either closed or closes early, screwing with my ability to hit the gym, run errands, etc. It wouldn't bother me if everything stayed open their normal hours.

Sad news to report.
I knew I was getting a new gun for Christmas. I just couldn't wait. So excited.
I tried to sleep, Christmas Eve and all.
I knew that wrapped box under the tree was just waiting to be opened in the morning.
But I couldn't wait. I wanted to get to that new shiny gun all wrapped up with a pretty bow.
I just had to take a peek.
So I quietly got out of bed, crawled in the dark over to the tree.
I remember doing this when I was a kid. Fun memories.
I grabbed the box, and quietly removed the ribbon, then the wrapping paper.
As I admired my shiny new gift, I heard a noise. A strange noise coming from the fireplace.
A bird? A squirrel? Maybe even a bat? Oh no! Maybe a vampire bat?
I'll have no bats in my house.
The noise continued, and continued, that funny scraping noise coming from the fireplace.
Then it happen.
Something started descending from the chimney down into the fireplace.
Gut reaction, I closed my eyes, pointed the gun, and fired. BANG!!!
Then I opened my eyes and there he was. Santa.
Fatally shot right through the heart.
It's funny, you can hardly tell red blood on a red suit.
But no doubt about it, Santa was indeed fatally deceased.
Sorry kids.
But there was an up side to this tragedy.
I am the new owner of a horde of trained deer, one with an illuminated red nose.
And a massive sleigh. Beautiful.
Lined inside with the most soft of all silk. And all the jewels. WOW!
The sides, the front, and the back, are completely covered with sparkling blinding white diamonds, deep green emeralds, and the reddest of red rubies.
I plan to sell it on eBay. Should bring a good price.

And last but not least, toys.
A huge bag of toys.
Every toy under the Sun.
More toys than you'd ever find at any ten Walmart's combined.
It's going to take me months and months just to go through all the toys in that huge bag.

At least it wasn't a helpless bird in the fireplace, looking for warmth and shelter.
I could never forgive myself if I had killed a helpless little birdie.
I never really hated Christmas as it were, I just hate bats in the fireplace.

I liked Christmas as a kid...until I found out the truth about Santa Claus.

Then, when I had little kids...and lied to them about Santa Claus...Christmas was fun.

Once they found out the truth...Christmas lost its appeal again...and they lost out on a fuck-ton of Christmas presents... :p

Even with young grandkids, Christmas wasn't nearly as much fun as it was. Nowadays, I wish the holiday would just die off...

That's why I enjoy Thanksgiving more than Christmas. Don't have to deal with the dumb decorations or buying expensive gifts, just be with family.

Kind of true. It's the one day of the year that my gym is closed. And today happens to be my workout day, oh well.

If true, that was a long time ago. I've been listening to older people grouch about the commercialisation of Christmas since at least the late 80s.

The worst part about the Christmas holiday is that my family doesn't understand that I'd rather just spend time with them than get presents, as I live 1600 miles away.

I'm not unhappy about the holidays, more disenchanted that's all.

I'm a bit of a loner myself (utterly loathe family gatherings, though I don't let it show), but I find Christmas to be more about stopping and being able to savor what you've gained thus far. Oh, and the egg nog.

Wish the parents would stop wasting presents on me. Stuff I want I either buy myself, or is well out of their price range.
