Honestly, I hate Christmas. It's just a bunch of Bullshit present buying and spending money on other people. Never really cared for the Holiday.
 
For the middle period of my life I was probably half way to where you are. Now that I have kids and a wife who goes nuts on xmas for the kids I can appreciate it save for the bills after 🙂



Go to a childrens hospital on chirstmas and remind yourself what the chirstmas spirit is all about. Buy some gifts and go meet some kids who feel it.


Strip it down to what its really about. Spending time with family and enjoying giving
 
Christmas is really only fun when your a little kid and then again when you have little kids of your own to share it with. I'm told grand-kids make it fun too but I'm not quite there yet.

When I was a child I liked it, because I got gifts. Now I have a wife and kids, it's just a bunch of shit. I also don't get shit for x-mas.
 
I feel people here (US) have lost what christmas was. Generally it was a time where family spent time with each other and reflected on their love. It wasn't about Ipods, XBox, Playstations, etc. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
 
I'm scrooge this year, working straight through, even Christmas Day, and I just cussed my Co-Manager out for changing the office hours and not letting us in the field know. Merry f#*%Ing Christmas!
 
That's fine. I think I love christmas enough for the both of us, and I'm an atheist. People like other people more when they give each other gifts. It's just fucking biology. It's a good thing to like other people, so any excuse to exchange gifts is a good thing as well. If you're butt hurt because some third parties also benefit from the season then you've got your priorities wrong.

Just like everything in life, it is what you make of it.
If you reduced it to nothing but present buying, that's your problem and shortcoming not the holiday's.

Who gives a shit what other people do, for someone with a family, you sound like a pretty miserable person. Not making enough money? A Federal employee make you mad?

Spent all last night wrapping gifts and look forward to Xmas Eve dinner with my family, giving one another gifts and playing with my nephew and niece with their new toys. Always love seeing their faces when they open up their gifts.

Sucks to be the OP.

I love Xmas.

I spent Xmas eve afternoon roasting a bunch of meats. I'm just about to leave for work (6pm) and I'll work through till 8am Xmas morning then dress up in my santa outfit to drive home and surprise the kids and other guests. Then I'll spend the morning cooking and unwrapping presents with the kids.

Then big Christmas lunch, some booze and a kip in front of the telly.
